I noticed in the "nicknames" list that Meatheads name was listed as Bolivar Cotton. His real name was James Parks. He was from Bolivar,Tn, a little town of about 5000 about 30 miles south of me.{Jackson, Tn} He was a great guy and would give you the shirt off his back. He played high and bet his own. I played pool and poker with him for many years and had many a great dinner cooked by his wife, Caraline, who now lives in Pickwick, Tn. Meat was killed in a car wreck in 1980.
I remember one year in Johnston City he and Beanie, I think it was, were trying to match up a game and Meat got up to go to the bathroom and slipped on a cigar butt and fell down. They thought he was drunk {which he was from time to time} and the game was on. Meat busted everybody that would bet anything! What a guy.
