Boner of the week for me... this tournament is Saturday November 3rd
At Hard Times Billiards in Sacramento
Open to any and all players
Sign ups start at Noon, close at 1pm
DE race to two both sides
Single day event.
OnePocket.org Rules
$20 entry fee, house adds $10 per player up to 30 players
We've been getting crowds of 30+ players in the last few month and I don't expect this to change this weekend.
Always the first Saturday of every month there is a One Pocket Jamboree at Hard Times.

let me begin,in order for our game to grow,we need to do what ever we can to expand the game.what i mean is never limit the amount of players trying to play in a tournament.as a tournament director ,when time and money become a issue, we need to step back, and allow sombody else run the tournament.we as directors need to take a hard look at what we are really doing for the game.if it means starting the tourny 30 min. earlier,so be it.this way if a player is late they have that 30 min. time limit.remember we want to do everything in our power to improve this game.majority of the players will agree with this thought.:(

I'm a little confused by your post.
If 'our game' is going to expand, we need to focus on the new players coming up in the ranks and make it a 'desirable objective'
Limiting the number of players in a tournament is largely decided by the number of tables available, format (single or double elimination), time limits and the owner's prerogative.
Start times for sign ups and a time to CLOSE sign ups are for the players that are there and ready to play. Holding up a tournament for a few players that can't make it on time is ridiculous. Why should the 95% of players there on time suffer because of some players just cannot understand that there is an order to organized tournaments?
I think the majority of the players would want the tournament to start on time and be predictable in that respect.
If I am wrong with this line of thinking, I will listen with any rational person.

Bingo! I agree with you Tom, and your points are as clear as a new pair of glasses. I think one of your key phrases was, "...rational person".:D
