Great interview with Danny D. I don't see how he remembers all of those things so well, but he sure does. When I was 13, Danny was a family man as well as a pool player. When he was living in California, he'd bring his family with him when he was in town. Danny used to love to play that Pay Ball on the snooker table, and played it real well. He was known as one of the toughest players in the game.

Ronnie Allen and Richie Florence were on the scene back then, as well as Wade Crane, Cole Dixon, Billy Incardona, David Howard, Eddie Burton, and it seemed like everybody used to play against each other every day. One day they're betting on you, and the next day they're playing you.

Me and Danny have done a lot of good things together, played pool, went to the horses at Santa Anita, bet on the Florida dogs at Caeser's Palace in Vegas, and it goes on and on.

I have heard a lot of commentators, and they all have their own unique style. Danny's uncanny recollection for detail and his strong background in all games is a plus when he's behind the microphone. I'm looking forward to reading his book. :)

Steve-- another great interview! Can't wait to see who's next. I'm trying to figure Danny's age. I figure he must have been born in '35, so he's probably about 69 years old. I have a pretty good Diliberto story from the '71 World Invitational in L.A., but I'll save it for another day...
