The ultimate insult, right: You can't even spell One Pocket!!

Then again, how do you spell One Pocket, er, I mean One-Pocket, no -- I mean one-pocket?
The Jansco brothers appear to have spelled it One Pocket
Accustats spells it One Pocket
The BCA spells it One Pocket
The DCC spells it both One Pocket & One-Pocket
Eddie Robin spelled it ONE-POCKET (except throughout the text it is not capitalized, so it is actually one-pocket)
George Fels spelled it one-pocket (uncapitalized) in Mastering Pool
Mike Shamos also goes with the uncapitalized one-pocket in his history article, but One-Pocket in his Encyclopedia
Fats spelled it One Pocket in both his bio and the rule book published by Rozel (published before the BCA included the game)

Mike Shamos also claims it to be an older game than 9-ball, 14.1 and 8-ball -- you'd think the spelling would have firmed up by now!

So how do you spell o-n-e-p-o-c-k-e-t? :D :D

In my view it ought to be One-Pocket. It's sort of a proper noun, so it ought to be capitalized; which would also make it stand out in text. The hyphen would be used for readability-- to make it distinguishable from the phrase "one pocket", as in "One pocket is tight, whereas the other is loose."

As far as informal reference, I like 1p; or 1pk.

How about our website reference: 1p.o; 1porg; op.o?

Which of these do y'all like?

No reason for capital letters. Hyphen is necessary for correct grammar, methinks: one-fourth cup, school-age kids, one-pocket (emphasis on the "one" when spoken). No matter how it is spelled, it is the most challenging and interesting pool game to play and sweat.

I agree, Martin; but the hyphen has not caught on. Ironically, guys who are willing to play tedious safeties inning after inning in one-pocket matches are too lazy to type the hyphen... :o Of course if pool players were logical, 9-ball would not be referred to as a game of skill.

1pocket or 1hole. Even 1p or 1h.

I personally think calling it "1 hole" is insulting this fine game, but maybe that's just me.

I call it "One-Pocket" unless I get lazy, then it's "1-P".
