Mike,
This may not be the best site for this type question but....low english is the same as draw or striking the cue ball low so that it gains reverse spin and stops or reverses direction. I woulds suggest you join the AZbilliards forum for these type questions as they have archives to answer most of them.

Assuming you're serious, it's one of the American expressions to describe a draw shot:

Either that or it is another name for early Saxon speech :)
If you are an American beginner, you have some homework to do...

Make a bridge, open or closed.Closed is best, they both work.Practice hitting the cueball at 6oclock,not 3-9-or 12oclock,got it?Do this off the short rail 5-10 times.BE SURE to follow-thru,don't stab the cueball. Now take a ball, set it 8-12" from the cueball. Were not interested in pocketing a ball now.Be comfortable, forget everything except hitting the cueball low,following-thru and above all staying DOWN after striking the cueball. With practice, say 2-20 times, you will be able to draw the cueball back. Now,low english is slightly different. To do that, you want to follow the draw rules, except now you are striking the cueball at 5 or 7 oclock, not 6.This will help you control the object ball AFTER it strikes a rail. That lesson will be discussed after you are proficient in learning said draw stroke.....come back in a day or 3 and let us know whats up,cool,Bob
