I seem to always have trouble finding posts to read on different pages.
For example today I see tittanic jerry made a post. I cannot get to it.
I clicked on every possibility I thought. 1st page, 2nd page, threads below current and the best I could do was a post on 9-1 by titanic jerry. What am I doing wrong. I have this trouble all the time. Also when it shows 16 posts on a subject , you go to the page and the numbering starts over, it should keep the post number in order regardless of the page, makes it easier to know where you are at. I never have trouble or confusion on az forum.
Maybe I am getting senile like my wife said.
Please administrator shed some light and try to make it easier. This site is too hard to get around on.
thanks

suki,
Try going to your "User CP" (upper left corner of this screen), then find your "Edit Options" the scroll down until you find "Thread Display Mode" and try changing to "Linear -- Newest First" or one of the other choices. You probably are set up in "threaded" or "hybred" mode.

Let me know if you have any trouble making that change.

Thanks, I did that but I still cannot find a thread posted today by Titanic Jerry. I have it in newest first mode and that works. I go to that thread and I get a titanic jerry from sept. 1, not today. So something is amiss.

By the way since I got you here, I have a rules question. I think you covered this before but am not sure. My buddy who I mentiioned in another thread that ran 23 balls in a row in his pocket asks:
Say the opponents game ball is hanging in the pocket and 3 other balls below the line any of which is an easy shot if you make and scratch his game ball.
So instead you foul by double hitting the cue ball (so u have fouled before pocketing the ball) and you make the object ball in the pocket but not the cue ball. What happens. I said I thought that would be an intentional scratch of the type you would get the choice of replacing the ball where it was. But then how do you prove its intentional. I have done this shot not on purpose when in the middle of my stroke i hit the cue ball by mistake then instinct makes me carry through and hit the cue ball twice.
People are always figuring out ways to get around things. right?
thanks

I was about to start a similar thread to see if others noticed the same things. The posts are all out of order, and you really have to look to see if there have been any new ones.

I just looked at the "default" settings for OnePocket.org, and they were indeed set to the "Hybred" viewing mode, which could be the source of your difficulty navigating. I went ahead and changed the default to "Linear -- Newest First". Newest First puts the most recent posts right at the top of the thread, and is probably the easiest to navigate if you visit the forum frequently. If you are new to the forum however, and you want to read a whole thread from start to finish, you'll have to start at the bottom of the thread and work your way up if you want to stay in the order in which posts were made.

If you would like to change your settings to the straight linear mode, go to your "User CP" (upper left corner of this screen), then find "Edit Options", the scroll down until you find "Thread Display Mode" and change it to "Linear -- Newest First" or "Linear -- Oldest First" if you prefer.

Anyone who would like help with this, I can do it from the administrative end if you are having trouble finding the settings on your own, just let me know -- we aim to please.

That helped a lot but the main page still shows new posts for today,(titanic jerry) and woody968 i think, shows a post today, this morning, but that is really a post from 8-4 not today. Figure that one out. And the one from jerry is from 9-1 not today

woody's post was in the Jump cues thread, which has a poll. Every time anyone votes in a poll, it bumps the thread to the top -- but what shows is the last post (which was woody's), not the member that voted. The polls are set up to keep the voting anonymous, so when you vote, your member name doesn't show up as the most recent activity, it's actually the last post in the thread that shows up. That's why Jerry's post from 9-1 came up, too -- somebody voted in that poll too.

I knew there was an explanation. lol
