What speed did he play compared to say, one -pocket ghost or Freddy? I played him here in Tenneessee when I was a kid and of course went home with lint in my pocket. I did learn several good moves from him though. I heard his wife shot him. Say it ain't so Joe.

Charlie was probably a top short-stop. We played a lot a Johnston City around the same time his wife bashed a beer bottle over Eddie Kelly's mush down there. He liked to pull his shirt up and show everybody the bullet holes his wife had put in him.
