One Pocket 26 players
1st $300 Chris MacDonald (came from the one loss side to double dip and win)
2nd $180 Frank Nordmann (local Sacramento player)

9 Ball 47 playes
1st $460 Louis Ulrich (moved back to San Diego since May)
2nd $300 Dan Wallace (another San Diego visitor and former AZ player?)

The weekend had some players in the field getting ready for the Reno Pro Event this week. Lots of good players from Southern California stopped.

Two players from Colorado visited and played in the 9 ball event. I guess the road trip took the best game out of them. Melissa Little and hubby Mark Haadad played and it was good to see our friends again.

Tom, So Dan Wallace lives in S.D. now huh ? haven't seen him in years.
How far down the payout's would you have to go to see my friend John Hendy's name ? Wish I got up your way more often. Say hi to Wayne (midge) if you should see him. Its great that you still keep the guy's competing up there.

See you at DCC

Dick,
I am assuming Dan is now living in San Diego, he and Louis were traveling together. He also mentioned that to me a couple of years ago when he played in our June Jamboree.

I am pretty sure John Henderson didn't cash in this monthly's tournament, but I could be wrong, it was just yesterday and less than 24 hours ago.. so I could have killed those brain cells ....

When the memory comes back... I'll let you know.

I didn't cash in either tournament. Want to get all the dog out before we partner up at the Derby and rob all the other old suckers who will be there.

In fact, Tucson, Arizona is the only winner I have booked in a while, but Santa Anita Racetrack opens the day after Christmas and that gives me a few weeks to pump up for the Derby.

And more good news... They are opening a new Indian Casino just a few miles from me on the 17th and you know how loose the slots are in those places. I should be fat by Derby Time.

Good news John, you should be pumped up enough to put yourself, RA and I in action with all the "soft" games at DCC. I can hardly wait. We'll be Rich !!!

PS. I've improved at least 4 balls since you last saw me play.

Nice win for Chris, Tom. I guess he's getting to the age where his best 9-ball may be behind him, but he still can be a big threat at one-hole...;)

Did Billy Palmer give everyone a break, and not play the 1P?

I see Henderson will go to any lengths to lay down the lemon-- even not cashing at a 1P tournament. He tried to pull the same thing at Gulfport, but even so, he wound up 7th/8th. No one was fooled...

Yeah Doc, and I'm still waiting for a response from either Dick or John H. to my post >>> which was post #10 in the "Derby City-here we come" thread......

Billy Palmer played but wasn't shooting his 100% plus game. Everyone has an 'OFF' day, Billy finished tied for 5th.

Chris MacDonald was making shots from everywhere and cutting balls that had players jumping out of their seats yelling.

And Chris was hitting the 1 and 2 rail banks like they were Hangers.

Tough to fade that kind of action...

BTW, Chris won his last 6 game in a row. Finals on the One loss side and the double dipper beating the hot seat winner twice.

just so we don't have any confusion here.........tom you and chris put up your paychecks for the week,oh wait a minute does chris work.oh well why don't tom put his month's worth of paychecks up against frank to play him some 0ne pocket and lets see who plays better for the cheese.somebody told me that tom asked chris to ask frank to split it with frank after chris won the first set.Frank talked to tony the general manager of hardtimes and expressed his concerns with matter.and tony agreed the tournament directors probably should not be suggesting this type of play, and maybe that should be left to the players to decide.Frank is a fighter, and i don't think anybody will disagree there.but when you work monday thru friday and try and play competitively,it's very tough.let's not forget frank asked chris to play for all of it befor they even started.frank said the door is wide open all is welcome.............. later I'm out

Sounds like "sour grapes" to me. Tom is a straight shooter who doesn't take sides. Lets ask J.H. for the real scoop. Frank is very lucky I am at half speed, or he would be permanently broke.
(aren't "the baby" and "Frank" one and the same person?)

"the baby" is Frank.

I have never told or asked a player to ask another player to split. NEVER.

I'm not taking sides here, but Chris does work & is raising a family just like you. You both played great for a couple of working stiffs.

You know you can get your gambling fix playing me 9/8. Bet what you want! I have never won at that game, but this new medicine I am taking is making me a little cocky.

Now you'se sunny guys can stop scolding the arguing Chicago guys....

See, up here in the northern midwest, we got an excuse for being a little ornery - we gotta deal with snow-drift blizzards, and freezing ice-rain, and sub-zero temperatures, and females with their skin all covered/bundled up and hidden like muslim women for 5 months - all of that sh*t will put you in a bad mood....

But now looky here....imagine this....we got mean-spirited postin' goin on from the west coast guys, the guys from the land of milk and honey, from the land of sunshine and 75 degree weather, from the land of blondes and bikinis - they got no excuse, like we do, for being ornery.......:D

ps, 5" snow today - temp. 8 degrees this morning...:(

Hey, I'm in the No. California Foothills. It gets down to 30 degrees at night and even under 50 sometimes during the day. Brutal weather for a Southern California boy.

Look on the bright side. The rough weather is the reason the pool rooms are full of suckers all winter.

The new Indian Casino about 15 miles from me is opening today. 2,000 slot machines and 75 table games. I should be rolling in cheese by Derby time.

Congratulations to Chris for playing well. His game isn't what it used to be, but Chris has a ton of banking and one pocket knowledge and can still play top level one pocket sometimes.

I think he may have recently banged up his shoulder or tore something in his arm- I heard him say he can't golf for awhile at a local tourney 2 weeks ago.

I seriously, seriously doubt Tom got involved with any "split". I barely know him but from meeting him and reading his posts, I find it real hard to believe he'd go out of his way to do something like that.

Chris was banking them in at warp speed from everywhere. I was sitting right behind him when he made a long two railer that wouldn't go to win one game.

Tom wouldn't get involved in a split. The Baby was just being The Baby after getting beat. Old school barking and soon forgotten. I'm trying to agitate him into getting 9/8 (more old school barking) but he hasn't gone for it so far.

bud,i probably know you ,but if you read my post you will see that i said that someone came up to me after the match and told me he overheard tom say that to chris, well i really don't care, but i've been around pool most of my life and i have to say i've seen some of the strangest things happen in a pool hall.not to say this could not of happen,i was on a break when that supossedly happened.i'm going to tell you why i brought this up.this is what happen earlier in the tourny.i was playing tinsley johnson,i broke the balls but ended up dead frozen to the one after makin a a ball.i called tom over to watch the hit .(now the rule is if the cue ball is frozen to the object ball you can shoot thru it right?)so tom came over and looked at it for a few seconds, and then moved out of the way,so i proceeded to get up and shoot the ball.but i jacked up and shot away from the one ball, right away he calls foul.i didn't say anything i just sat down.well i end up beatin tinsley that match anyway.later that night i started to ask a number players about the situation, and everyone of them said it was not a foul.so then i decided to ask tom why did you call foul, you know what he said?.I CALLED FOUL BECAUSE YOU DID'NT WAIT FOR ME TO TELL YOU TO SHOOT ........there were alot of people sitting there watching that hit ,and you know what they all said the same thing ,THAT WAS NOT A FOUL..........so it got me wondering this is not a perfect world.we are going to make alot of mistakes in life, hopefully we can learn from our mistakes, some people don't.alot of players think tom trys to powertrip sometimes,i really don't care.idon't let that stuff get to me.tom is a very good tournament director.but we all have our moments.just to make sure that other guy who posted about the sour grapes understands .I'M A VERY GOOD LOOSER BUT A BETTER WINNER.SO ANYTIME YOUR FEELIN YOUR OATS JUST MOSSY ON UP TO SUNNY CALIFORNIA AND TEST THE WATER................................................PEACE I'M OUT
