Has anyone heard when Danny D. and Keith McCready's books are coming out?

I have heard that Danny's book is still 'in the works'.
Keith's 'movie rights' have already been sold (rumor, heard a long time ago) but the book is still 'in the works'
Maybe JAM could enlighten us on the progress of Jenn's book. :)
In a recent pool mag, Keith has a multipage article about his pool antics from grade school until prestent.
Thanks for the interest in Keith's book. It's moving right along, most likely 90-percent complete. My copy-editor is a court reporter and an English major who knows NOTHING about pool, and she has been of immense help.
With Keith's tournament schedule, my full-time business, and keeping the Malloy and McCready Ranch running, it is difficult to devote ourselves full time to writing. I have always gone first class in anything I tackle, and this book will be no exception. It is a great read so far, and I can't wait to get it off my desk. I have over 25 audiotapes of interviews, a lot of pool media from yesteryear, and notes that I am still poring through.
Currently, to be quite honest about it, I am so disgusted with the infighting between various pool entities, as it pertains to Keith, that I find it difficult to bring this baby to a close. The book, as it sits now, is a good read from Keith's early years and his on-the-road travels and is very representative of how pool has progressed to where it is today. It is the "today" part, I am struggling with.
I am looking forward to Danny DiLiberto's book. I have been told that Jerry Forsyth is assisting him. I have been a big fan of Jerry Forsyth's since I heard him commentating on the WPC a few years ago. I've gotten the chance to talk to Jerry on several occasions, and I am impressed not only with his abilities as a journalist and photographer, but he is a very knowledgeable person when it comes to pool. I truly look forward to reading it. :)

Thanks for the info JAM. I also read the article about Keith in a recent Issue of a pool magazine and loved it. I hope things work out for you in getting it completed. I can't wait.
Has Keith sold his film rights as noted in a previous post? Or is it just a rumor?
Now that would be a movie.

You read my mind $Bill. Right after I posted that I started thinking what actor could play Keith? Then I decided what the hell, let Keith do it himself.

I had the great pleasure of playing Danny D. at the 2003 Legends of One-Pocket in Columbia, SC. He took my friend and I to his hotel room and showed us this entire briefcase full of clippings, pictures and magazines (all originals) that he would be giving to Jerry Forsythe for that book. The briefcase included a pic of him wearing a cowboy hat, a picture of his son (apparently a male model for clothing industry), his boxing career, many championship wins and a french magazine article where her was teaching the players over there. The funniest thing there though was the cover of some magazine he had with a pic of him on the cover pointing at his shirt. It had a baseball bat, cue, boxing gloves and in the middle it said "wonder wop". He was laughing about that. I thought he was crazy for giving him all of his original pictures and magazines, but Danny is a class act and trusts Jerry with them. On the first day of the tournament, I was talking to him(no one else was-I was suprised) and he showed me some dead ball shots for about an hour as we warmed up for the tourney. He went on with this elaborate shot and how to get out of this trap when Scott Smith called both our names to play each other. Danny was already down on the shot stroking it and stood straight up and said "I can't show you this shot now"....he did anyway and still defeated me 3-1. Danny is probably the nicest guy in the whole pool world. I look forward to that book, I read some of it in the room...he had a manuscript that they had been working on. I believe it was already like 300 pages and they had only gotten to the late 70's!! That was a main concern was shortening the book!!!

Hell, keep it long.
I hate hitting the end page of a good book.
Can't wait to read it.

Apparently the Diliberto book is out on a cd rom and is $20.00. You can read about it at azbilliards.com.
