You guys and gals are in my head. I was just practicing today and this situation came up. I figured that I had pocket 'A' and needed two balls. I was genuinely split between banking the one-railer or banking the two-railer. I ended up deciding on the two-railer because I hit those very well, especially when hitting the cueball with inside draw. I did jaw it up but it occured to me to ask others what they would do.

P.S. Anyone who suggests kicking at the 11 ball is going to the rubber room.

Put me in the camp of banking the 14 ball, if you handle the CB well you may cover up a return bank, if not and you get the 14 ball close the 11 ball will have to be combo'ed. taking care of the CB is tougher on the one rail. If you make either one then it's a moot point.
Rod.
PS; if I was shooting the one railer I'd still try to get back to the head rail.

dennis,
I agree the fourteen would have been my shot although I think it is a matter of preference. I based my decision by visualizing myself on the table; if I was bearing down I would be a little concerned with posibley scratching in the side pocket(if I didn't hit it right) on the one-rail bank ---that risk doesn't exist with the 14 two-railer; also if you hit it with good pocket speed and land behind the 11 with the qball you put your opponent in big trouble. S0 I pick the 14's side

I WILL KICK THE 11 BALL ......

Ghosty,

Just don't try to rip up the sink from the floor and throw it through the window. Or hijack a bus and go deep-sea fishing. Or teach big indians how to slam-dunk. And watch out for that E.S.T session. I hear it's a shocking experience.

By the way Ghost, what sort of prognosis do your Docs have for you?

They say I am suffering from "Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder".......But they say I should be ok after some extensive rest and daily massage and 'physical/emotional morale raising sessions' with my nurse Keiko.

- Ghost i knew you would kick the eleven to stay in the rubber room. you need your "therapy".

I think this is the best option as well. Easier to control the cue ball. And you can win the game on this shot!

Ghost, I think it's more like "Post Traumatic Wei Disorder". Certainly the "raising sessions" with nurse Keiko will help the PTWD, but I'm not hopeful about your disposition.:D

BTW I wouldn't be surprised if Artie too would shoot the 11-ball kick, since the 11 is laying so big. Then y'all would be in the same camp.

Maybe if this was his nurse he would come around quicker. Nurse Ratched will get the Ghost out of the rubber room. Count on it.

She looks like just another "cheap Chicago hooker" to me. (she probably wants more than $5 per massage)

I don't know, Dick. When I was 30 and Louise Fletcher was 40, she didn't look that swift. But now that I'm 64, the Fletcher photo looks pretty hot! After all, she's a southern belle from Birmingham, Ala.;)

Doc,

I was referring to the Ghost's nurse! Virtually all females from Chicago are "$5 hookers. (except for my niece and sister)
