Measurement of improvement

I don't get much pool in since starting to play poker full time. But I always seem to learn something every session playing one pocket. I was in action all last week and didn't book a single loser. Guys I had a hard time with a year ago are no longer able to get there. I even beat a real solid regional player here last week playing even. I guess , for me at least, this is the best way I know to gage my improvement. What would be some other ways?

Catalog the players ducking you, the ones telling you how much you improved and they now want a spot, and the strangers who happen in and want to play. Just continue to play your speed and you'll be great.

Rod. Thier is a big difference playing for fun. Or playing for a living.

Hey fatboy,
k-town is a good friend of mine and he can let you in on me. i do play live poker action almost every night of the week. i can usually average a decent amount per week playing poker. However my pool action is normally cheap. 20 to 50 dollar one pocket and 5 or 10 dollar 9 ball. Also my competion are not world beaters. Just regular working guys. I took a week off from poker last week. I went to new orleans the week before and played in the wsop cicuit event. I ran real bad. I played 5 events and could not get a hand to hold up. i just needed a break from poker i guess. I am leaving for vegas june 2nd for the wsop and I hope I can do better this time.

I understand where your coming from. If I was playing pool for a living I wouldnt be on here talking about it for sure. All the guys that play in my small town are not super strong players. But several very respectable players and we have a good time playing the game. Thanks again for everyones advice and discussion about one pocket. Its now my favorite game.
