Interesting note from Gene Miller. Evidently Chohan is out on bail, and played a 1P match with Santos over the weekend. Didn't hear the result. No one knows how much slam time he'll get:

Results of USPPA Summer Shootout at California Billiard Club, Mountain View, June 20-21

89 players @ $50 plus $1,000 added by California Billiard Club.

Total prize fund: $5,450

This was the 23rd time California Billiard Club has held a “Reno style” USPPA tournament. For years it was held as a “Reno Warmup” but now, even with no Summer event at the Sands in Reno, the tradition continues, and this time we drew 89 players. Among them were 15 players with averages of 100 or better and six new members playing their first USPPA event. It was a two-day event that brought back the 24 money winners on Sunday. All matches were race to eight using 100% handicap, on a double elimination board. It was my pleasure to run the tournament, and even though it was not error-free on my part, the glitches were more amusing than troublesome. Spectators were treated to an interesting side show as the championship match began -- a One-Pocket match with Santos Sambajon and Tony Chohan.

Pictures! Once again Bob Beaulieu brought his camera, you can see his photography at two Internet locations:

I heard that Tony was giving Santos a ball, and Santos won.

This is from the poster "ActionCentral" on AZbilliards:

"Tony gave Santos 8-7 in a race to 6 for 2000. He lost 6-0 at California Billiard club in Mountain View, CA. The locals put him in and he played terrible. He even said that his head was not in the game. This might have been the last time we were able to see him play one pocket for awhile so we gave it a shot and put him in the box. He was so out of it that the last game he got up 6-0, went for a tough shot, missed it, Santos only needed one ball and Tony got up and shot a sweet 2 railer into SANTOS pocket to give him the game and match. Never have seen him shoot at the wrong pocket in my life. Very sad indeed. We were hoping for more.
He was going to play Roberto Gomez getting the 7 in 10 ball but the Filipinos did not want to put him in. Tony has another court date in about 6 weeks. Got a different lawyer now, so hope to see him get less time. Looks like he will do some time not sure how much right now."

Sounds like Tony was either preoccupied with his court case, or perhaps he was atypically playing on the natch. Probably the former.
