I was wondering how many players would be in the first group for the Hall of Fame. Doesn't mention that anywhere.

If I could put my two cents in, how about something like this:

*Take the top eight vote getters (representing the 8 balls needed or something like that relating to One Pocket) for the first class of Inductees.

*Then, next year make the list with 15 names and limit how many votes 3-4-5-6??? and take the top 3 or however many vote getters and Induct them.

Most of the Sports Hall of Fames have a few inductees every year and I know we don't have a shortage of characters in pool not to do that either. It just seems like we need to get some of the lessor known names as well as the known names out there for the history of the game. I could come up with hundreds of names and stories from just a couple of guys around here in Detroit so its not like we'd have too many players in it too soon.

Just a couple of thoughts.

Steve,
I had five in mind -- or more if the fifth highest vote tally turned out to be a tie (which it is at the moment). That seems like enough for this first year, partly because I think it's important to do the best job we can honoring those we select, and too many would make it difficult to focus on each individual adequately, IMHO.

Grady has invited Onepocket.org to do the first presentation at his Gulf Coast Classic event -- which seems fitting, with Grady as the leading vote getter (at the moment).

I have spoken to Ronnie Allen recently and he's not sure he's going to make it to Grady's event -- unless someone steps up to help sponsor his trip. I'm not in a position to do that myself at the moment. I would like to ultimately build up a little more of an endowment for the One Pocket Hall of Fame so that might be possible in the future for other deserving inductees who could not easily afford the trip.

Ronnie is planning to be at the DCC however. Assuming it is okay with Greg Sullivan and his crew, I would like to do the remaining presentations for this round of voting at the DCC.

I am determined to have a 'commemorative poster' put together for each inductee (if I have adequate cooperation from those who can provide good photos and biographical materials). I'm working on that for Grady as we speak, and do expect to have it ready for his presentation.

The One Pocket Hall of Fame is off to a modest start, but it has a great 'upside' and looks like it is going to be very well received. Hopefully, it can build a little momentum and attract a little business sponsorship along the way. Anyone who thinks they could help recruit suitable sponsorship should please contact me
