I hate to be the bearer of depressing information, but here is an update I received today on Grady's wife, Randi......

Good Morning -

It has been a long while since this journal was updated. Randi has been through some really up and down times over the last few months. The chemo finished and the doctors were pleased with the progress made. All the tumors shrunk and they were hoping to give Randi a few months to be able to recover from the treatments and gain her strength and will to fight back.

Unfortunately, Randi has continued downhill. Her strength decreased while her anxiety continued to spiral out of control. Several options were looked at while she was kept hospitalized. She was eventually moved to a rehab facility where they had hoped to stabilize her and get some physical therapy to increase her muscle strength so she could go back home.

We have been contacted by the rehab facility and told that Randi has stopped communicating, is shutting down and seems to be in significant pain. While her heart and lungs seem strong, she is being given more medication to try to help her pain and keep her comfortable. This has led to the discussion of signing a DNR. All of us know that Randi never wanted to be in pain.

Carole and Shanna are leaving NH tonight to go to SC for at least the weekend. Maybe some new faces can bring Randi out of where she has gone. Only God knows right now what is happening. Your prayers and love will be helpful to Randi and her family as we gather. Thank you for all of your caring words and thoughts.

We will update as we learn more.

Randi, Grady and their family needs a miracle, many prayers and some peace right now. And tons of support. This transcends pool.

How about a moratorium on any more negative comments about the man for a while? I know this will be hard for some, but try hard.

some azb'ers have been hard on grady lately(my addition for those that dont know)I am sorry for your pain and Randis pain and your family and relatives. And all the people who love you. Its time for God to make a decision what will happen. No one realy knowes not even the doctors its up to God. And God loves us all. We are all his children. I know if I was going through this I wouldnt want to feel no pain. THats what my wife did when she passed away with lung cancer. She made sure that she didnt feel no pain. The pain is the worst thing you can fell. And I dont wish that on nobody. My brother did Cemo and Radiation for 18 years tell they burned him out so much that ehe couldnt give him no more Cemo and Radiation. And he passed away. But You are a good man Grady and you are both lucky to have each other. And no matter what happines. You will always be a beautifull relationship in each others life. And you are thier for each other forever. God bless you and Randi.
