I wuz just thinkin'.... this might be a good time to start a new thread on this subject, unless of course anyone would prefer to try and answer those really "different" [sic] posts, #92 and #94 in the original thread.
I would think, if someone felt so mis-treated and abused, they should just hang it up, and quit posting.
But I guess some people just thrive on confrontation and bitterness. It may be all they have, and for that I'm sorry.
But for the most part, it was a great thread while it lasted, and I am sure there is a lot more to be said on this timely and interesting subject. However, if I've ever seen a "thread ender"... post #94 was it.
Lets see how far we can get on this "new" thread before it is permeated with negativity, divisiveness, bitterness, and senseless drivel. ( I make the over/under at 4)
It is beginning to look like ONE person, may NOT be going to Galveston.
The one's who ARE going, should feel better allready....Look on it as a vacation from the "SOS" (same old s**t.)
PS..I thought for sure, one of the best natured, easy goin' old rounder's I've ever met, was almost "piss-off proof"...but I guess everybody has their limit....I sure know mines been bumped several times.

I'm confused, what happened to the possible match ups? I have been out of pocket for about 5 days, and if i'm interpreting this right are you saying that Artie is not going to Galveston? Well if Artie is not going then who's going to play beside Bruce and John? How about some other match ups like me and The Ghost playing SJD and John ? Or me and SJD playing The Ghost and John? Or me and Rodney against any two of the three (Ghost, John, SJD) getting 8/7. Or me against any two of the three, giving 9/8 ? I will play any one of these games for $200 a game on up $$$.
By the way Dick i'm 65 years old, and on Medicare, If that means anything, I just want to play some pool. How about me playing between you and Frost getting 9/7 ? $200 a man. Actually, i'm kinda like John I don't care who I play I just want to play. There's no action here in Dallas, and I haven't played since the DCC and i'm ready to play.
John, i'll play you some even onepocket, $300 to $500 a game, if I was playing every day, and was playing as well as I was 18 months ago, I would consider giving you 9/8, but i'm well beneath that speed today.
I'm really dissapointed that Artie is not going, he actually was going to stake our partner game, and that would of been funny to watch. Anyways we can still drum up some action, maybe not as high, but nonetheless it will be interesting, and perhaps we can even have some fun.

Billy, I did not say AB wasn't going..I said its starting to SOUND like he's not going. I don't know, and could care less now.
I do know I CANNOT go. I can't even get away to Kolby's (30 miles away) right now...I did offer to send $$$$ to the WCG though.
Artie appears to be in his "ignore everything anybody says" mode, and its just swell with me.
Did you read any of the later posts in the original thread ? I'll save you some time...checkout posts number 82 thru 86, and 92 and 94, then explain his logic to me.
By the way Billy, when I was 65 (10 years ago) I was playing almost everybody...almost every day. Check with RA, Cooney, Frost, Gabe, Richie R. or anyone else that came thru,... No offense to you... just sayin', I wuz playin' !!!

Billy, I can't play you even. When we did play three sessions at Hard Times around 91, you gave me 9/7, 8/7 and had me stuck four or five games going into the third session. You showed up with cracked ribs from a boating accident and played anyway and we came out close to even. Neither one of us plays like we did then, but you are a better player.
I am 70 years old and never been a top player like you, but I don't go where there are pool tables and action to sit in the chair. We will figure out something.
The Ghost & I play even. We played a little at The Derby and broke even. Chicago Mike drilled me in Gulfport.
I am hoping to catch my stroke in Galveston and beat all three of you. I'll have a blast even if I don't book a winner.

Billy, If you cant find any action in DFW, I can get you some out of Longview, Texas. I talked to Joey Barnes this evening and he told me to find out if you are interested?

Thanks for the interest, yes I would love to play Joey or anyone else that wants to play a gambling game, it doesn't have to be for $1,000's Three to five hundred a game is fine with me. All we have to do now is match up the game.
One of the problems with pool in terms of matching up, is that everyone wants to match up on a way a player played a certain time, and match up off that performance. For instance, 2 years ago I beat Joey playing even onepocket, today I play probably a ball under that speed, but no one wants to acknowledge that, they only want to play based on what a player did whenever.
Two years ago I played Tommy Ray (a Dallas player) 9/7-10/7 and won, today I play Tommy 9/8-10/8 and struggle.
I don't expect people to take that as bible because it seems like a con, but it isn't. So there probably won't be a game, unless they do a little researching. Now that wouldn't be a bad idea, especially if they really want to play. So the answer to your question is, yes i'll play Joey if he gives me a ball (8/7) and play for $300 to $500 a game.:D

They need to judge your playing by how you play now not like you played before.
