I wanted to start this thread up in an effort to build some interest in a mini tourney of one-handed one pocket at DCC 2010 in January. I enjoy playing a friendly game of one-handed one pocket now and then (back when I used to play more than once a year), and I really like the idea of a mini where the old timers have an opportunity to shine and take home the cheese as I remember the old one-handed mini at DCC being dominated by the older set.

Both Steve and I have said we would pledge some cash to the added money pot, and I'm hoping that others will too. Maybe Steve can set something up here so we can 'securely' send money to him for this or at least keep track of what's been gathered so far. Also, if anyone has information or contact with Greg Sullivan from Diamond, then it'd be great to know up front if this is even possible at DCC 2010. Thanks.

Twister, if there is room in our AZ/One pocket Room, could we do it there? As long as there were not too many and we usually have a mini envent among the members anyway.

I will give Greg a call.
Deeman, they had 15 or 20 entries in the past, including some guys who clearly came just for that. I don't think it would work in the little room...

One wing in the air I hope. WHat I seen you can play it late at night. When all the champions go to sleep.

When I played in the one-handed one pocket mini several years ago when the DCC was still at the Executive West, Jose Parica and Ronnie Allen were playing in it, so you never know who's going to show up.

I wasn't able to watch the end of it, but I believe that Parica won.

I happen to know that my pal, Greg Sullivan also likes to play in those 1 handed 1pkt mini tournaments. The last time he played in one at DCC, he had a heart attack that night. But he's much better now, I think, so if you birds are serious about doing it, I can probably talk him into putting it into the late night schedule this year. I think they played jacked-up tho, last time. Does everybody want to play jacked-up?

I would play either way. Could be fun and another way to go off. The Ghost was the only winner I booked since the last Derby and that was so small I had to come with a little extra to buy breakfast.

Ronnie said he gave you a horse that couldnt loose. You would have loved watching Ronnie drink two beers at a time. He didnt know what bottle to go for first. And the bartender if he had any sense would have asked Ronnie if he should keep one on ice. What if I would have bought Ronnie 10 beers this bartender would have opened and put all ten beers in front off ronnie. And Ronnie was wright by the race book. Do you think Ronnie likes betting on Horses?

I'd played in the one the year that Greg had a heart attack, and everyone was resting their cue on the rail so that year it wasn't jacked up. If we're taking votes, I prefer being able to rest the cue on the rail, but I'll play either way. This may all be moot of course as I assume that Greg has the final say.
