I have a rant...

8ft vs 9ft tables. Seems on a 9ft you can make a 3 or 4 railer work, when it is off angle a bit, and use side spn, top or bottom to lengthen or shorten it and lay it on track....Where on an 8ft it just has tolay right....So it sems, it is never the correct shot on 8ft equipment...

And sometimes this, a powerful move, with a chance to win the game, is just not a chance to win...therefore, you can't win the game with it.... Pocket speed I just don't seem to make the ball on an 8footer. Maybe 10 percent? And I have won MANY games, watching a slow-rolling ball fall in my hole on the 9 footers...

NOT ENOUGH SPACE FOR RAIL ENGLISH TO HOOK YOU AROUND THE TABLE IMO. At pocket-speed anyway...Only if you put a little spank on it...in which case, you lost the move...

And don't get me started on 5 rail kicks, 3 railers at pocket speed, or HOW MANY TIMES can you scratch on removing a ball from his hole!!!

I feel like I have adapted well to the 8ft game, but inside, I KNOW I can do it, I just have to accept I can't on the smaller tables. I have to do away with the "I wish you'd leave me this on a 9 footer" attitude!!

I first thought practice may help...
but after months of this...

On the 8, you shoot this nitty little shot, or get pissed and bank the 3(EEK!!)
But this leaves the kick for him, to work those balls away...You go from a huge pressure on him scenario, to leaving him to destroy your position...

And the tick-off bank to a blocked hole shot, a good move on the 9...seems on the 8 the ball you tick just ALWAYS seems to leave him a shot or move....lol

But seriously== it seems on a nine footer, I just have more options, and choose what works ....where on the 8 footer it seems when I force something to work or try something a little on the fun side, I just get burnt!

I guess it s because when my game was developing I had unlimited access to two 9's....

And plenty of strong moves on the 9 just aren't strong on the 8.
