Well, mover and defender that I am, even I, despite having the lead in balls, am cutting the 13 ball in...and if I shot as straight as Parica, I'd shoot it in even faster.

PS, Since that shot is so obvious, I guess he did something else...maybe he shot the fancy, yet safe shot >>> 2-railing the 8, playing shape on the 9 - safe, since neither the 6, 9, or 13 will go into Alex's pocket - that's not a bad shot...if the 6 isn't in the way.

Parica probably shot the 13. I'd shoot the 13 and draw right back where I started. The 13 should stop around the 6. If he comes off the 9 and leaves me long I'd come off the 11 and fall behind the 12-15. You might also shoot the 8 straght in and follow down to the end rail.

Don't forget that these layouts look very different on a t.v. than they would on a real table. You are correct, he did not shoot the 13.

Dennis......The way you have laid out the balls on the wei table, it looks like the 13 definitely does not clear the 12 ball to go into pocket A..:rolleyes:..otherwise, obviously, I wouldn't have suggested the 2 railer on the 8ball shot.

At first glance I like blackee's shot -- jacking up a little, knocking away the 13 and pulling back close to the side rail. Making sure not to expose the 11 for a return bank, or leave a juicy "twist back" on the 8-ball. I don't see anything aggressive, so I'm just trying to pick away at my opponent's superior position, so that as the game moves forward, I can take advantage of my lead in the count.

As I look again, maybe he could jack and masse/swerve to make the 11 straight into his own hole. Looks pretty safe as long as he doesn't nick the 12/15 cluster on the way by -- unless he misses and leaves a bank on the 11, lol.

The shot the WEI table suggests is to cut the 13 in. The carom lays on a natural angle to about diamond 1 1/2 on the bottom rail behind the 3 ball. Using a couple tips of rt hand eng the cue ball 2 rails between the 3 and the 9, heads toward the cluster of the 12 and 15, possibly breaking them up and most likely leaving a shot at the 11 for sure. Being that close to the 13 all that is definitely doable.

I get in enough trouble just trying banks from everywhere and trying to put the cueball in the right spot.:D

Greg, I said I'd shoot the 13 ball, but the above shot is OK unless you draw harder into the 15 ball or shoot hard and miss the 13 altogether. Speed is everything here and you still may leave a bank on the 8 ball. Of course you could make it.;) The spin needed to get the CB back will open the 8 ball a lot.

Why disturb balls that don't go? They also block the 8 after it spots up.

P.S. If I was gambling I might shoot the 13 at pocket 'B' but if it was in a tournament, game 7, my lead in balls, I'd still probably shoot the 8 in as I've shown.
