Both "Peter Rabbit" Linhard and Joe Veasey have had some medical problems. Rabbit was diagnosed with a tumor but with good fortune it was found to be benign. Joe Veasey is currently undergoing chemo. Both the Rabbit and Veasey played many one-pocket matches in the Philadelphia area. They were a treat to watch when they played each other because there was always some good chatter. One of Rabbit's favorite lines when he made a good shot or won a game was, "It ain't no fun with the rabbit has the gun".

I heard a story one time in which Peter Rabbit was trying to get a particular guy to back him against an opponent. When the prospective backer seemed a little unsure of the game, Rabbit replied, "Now, c'mon Carlos, I've made millionaires out of all my backers! Of course they were billionaires first."

Since Rabbit was known to go to the track every chance he got he was always looking for a backer. He used to wear a tee shirt with "Backer Wanted" printed across the back. He has a million sayings is a really is a funny guy. Quite a few years ago I lend him some money and hadn't seem him in quite some time. I was playing in a NJ room when in walks the Rabbit and he walks right up to me and in his hand he has this list of names. He looks at me then at the list and hands me the money crosses me off and heads out the door. He wasn't there 3 seconds and he was gone looking for the next name on the list. As far as I know he always paid.
