Nice to see all this barking going on, especially with the old guys since they are the only ones I have a chance with.

I don't want to jump at the big action too soon since it looks like I will have plenty of matches at the Derby, but I am ALWAYS available for some smaller action with anywhere near a fair game.

SJD will be here in a week or so for the Tournament at Hard Times in Sacramento and I am going back to Phoenix with him and I'm sure we will stop in Los Angeles and hit Hard Times, Bellflower and the room in Santa Monica on the way down.

Keep up the barking, but play some too.

Nice try Papie, but it's not quite that easy to trap the Ghost....I have a 'game-detective' down at your senior center, and I've got reports on your speed at all games...that said, just so we're clear on our gambling possibilities...these are the games I will not play you without getting significant weight:

1. Shuffleboard
2. Bingo
3. Checkers
4. Canasta
5. Klabiash
6. Mahjong

I will however, play you some heads up pinochle or scrabble......

I don't play cards for $$ - Here is why.

In the 60's I was scuffling pool and hanging around Five Points Bowl in El Monte. The problem with being a young guy without a job and trying to gamble for a living is you get bored and try other avenues of gambling. Two brothers that hung around the pool room had card games out at the family egg ranch. When I had a little $$ and there was no pool action I would play in the poker games. I always went busted.

Finally one of the guys pulled me aside and said "John, you are the worst and dumbest player I have ever seen. They are doing every kind of cheating possible in that game and you don't have a clue. The other day we were trying to use a dauber to mark the cards and we got too much color in it and it showed up on the cards. You wanted to know who was eating a hot dog. Do yourself a favor and do not play cards for $$".

I took that to heart 45+ years ago and other than some cheap hearts and gin, I won't play.

Here is how I handicap our EVEN partner game with me against you and Bernie.

Being my own partner and shooting every other shot when you are shooting every fourth time is about a one ball advantage for me. It didn't work out that way against Artie & Billie but this is a much cheaper game and I may not dog it (As much).

Bernie is around a ball better than me so now it is even.

You and I have played several games and are about even, so on paper this is an even game.

But if I was STALLING when I played you (A definite possibility), I have a little the best of it.

If you were stalling too, when you played me (I don't know) I'm in deep trouble. It will only cost me 1k to find out.

John,

It might work out better if you played the Ghost and Bernie after my match with him...That way he will be so demoralized and doggy, poor Bernie will think he's in the tank..:p

PS..Jasper,...Pinochle and Scrabble, are for people who live where there is so little gambling and pool action, they have to play something to pass the time. I would imagine you and Freddy to be very proficient at "those" games..;)....Even at the Senior Citizen Centers out here, the only card game they play is "No Limit" Hold'em..

Hey John.....One thing that I want to make sure we're clear on - any snap that you might be planning to give Ronnie out of the $$$ that we collect from this game, has to strictly come out of your half of Bernie's $500, none from my half of his $500.......:o......:D:p:D

I was going to let you have the last word, because trading insults, with a person of your I.Q., is not very high on my "do list"... But, alas, I just can't !
(Freddy, can I have you back ?... I feel like I'm sparring with 2 or 3 Cocobola Cowboy's...with all this clever dialogue from Mr. 3C)

In case you don't remember, I offered you a game, about 3 or 4 "butt-ins" ago... Even though I am now almost completely helpless, that game can still be played. Of course, your counter offer included a game that went out before even I was born...

If you have nerve (and $$$) enough to show up at the DCC, that offer is still on the table. I will further ammend my offer to include a session of One pocket, and any other game on a pool (or snooker) table. Even if you choose Banks (ugh) or 14.1 (double ugh).

Just let me know how much (min. 5K each) and I will send "show up" money, (of your choosing) to Steve Booth.

Otherwise, just continue to flap your gums. You are VERY good at that game.

It's nice that you are enjoying a "smashing success" with your new DVD...You plugged it unmercifully here, and AZB...I counted a total of four responses, on both sites...You must be doing great in Mexico and El Salvador (or some other backward country)...Or was your "first edition" only 10 copies...

PS..Sorry for the hi-jack John and Ghost....guess who made me do it...:D :D

I know you were going to let me have the last word, BUUUTTT the YJ wouldn't let you do it!

Man, Duck, you sure do get the RED ASS pretty easy, I'll bet you were sweet as bear meat back in the day when you thought you could play. A guy like Vince Corllie AKA (PANCHO) would of had you foaming at the mouth in about 3 mins. flat. so that you wouldn't be able to see the end rail. And would have you busted shortley after.

And I can tell just by the way you STEAM UP so fast on the internet, that face to face I'd have you looking to CRAWL out of the pool room. Now I know the REAL reason why you NEVER made it into Bensinger's, you wouldn't lasted 10 hrs without getting into a beef or going BUSTED. I got a feeling, just from your internet persona you were a thru ticket once you started going off.

You know, they do have billiard tables at DCC. And you know what our game is, 1 and 1, 3c and 1P. And watching you the other night I'm not so sure you win can at the 1P. But, I think I'll let the Ghost tenderize you up a little first'

Ducky as sweet as this has been, I must start on my next book, "The Life and Times of a REAL 3 Cushion Billiard Hustler".

Thanks Fred,

But I must say, some people mistake "steaming up" for trying to make a game with an absolute idiot. Why do I waste my time...I see Mr. 3C, is still not budging off his original counter offer (which includes a game I've never even sweated.)...Lotta balls there...

Bll Smith "Mr3Cushion"

That would TRUELY be a fate worse than death....

I would prefer all my fingernails and toenails pulled out slowly, one at a time,...Ice picks driven in both ears, and and my eyeballs melted with a blowtorch...

Of course they get to confer. After I get one of them aside when the other is shooting and ask them why the other one is telling him what to shoot when he is the better player, along with a few other suggestions, they should be at each others throats in no time.

Wouldn't it be better to enlist RA to do that John ?...;) ;) ;)

I believe the student has learned all he can from the master. Besides, the bite would be too big.

Hey John.....One thing that I want to make sure we're clear on - any snap that you might be planning to give Ronnie out of the $$$ that we collect from this game, has to strictly come out of your half of Bernie's $500, none from my half of his $500....:..:o......:D

Ghost,

That's too funny! Unfortunately for you, John and I have already "agreed" that it's coming out of our share of your $500.00:D

Oh what a wicked one pocket web we weave.

Looking forward to it.

Thanks. Bernie.

Dick, I will bet you $50 and a bottle of YJ taking Ghost and Bernie. I do not know how the Ghost plays but Bernie is playing well and will be even better by Derby time. :)

Hey Bernie....I kinda-sorta thought we had a good game..;)..but after seeing that 'Lenny the Lock' likes our end of it  now I know we have a really good game....:D

- Ghost

PS, Bernie...after reading this little needle, to get even with me in his answering post, John will probably try and highroll us and ask us to jack the bet...;)

I know I have the worst of it but what fun would it be winning with the nuts.

If I SHOULD get lucky and win, I can bark at you for a year. That alone is worth trying to outrun it.

A lot may depend on when you play, John...If I have allready softened up the Ghost, and Bernie has jet lag, you might be the chalk in this match-up...

Or...it could all boil down to how well Bernie tolerates the Ghost missing hangers...:p :p :p
