I guess that I'll be running this tournament until I get my bar tab paid off.... Oy-Vey !
I am hoping to implement a one day One Pocket 'ShootEmUp" Tournament in the very near future.

Oy Vey! No mention of Bill O in the blurb about the tournament.
Hell I few down a day early just to make sure I wouldn't miss it. I played, well no, I participated in the tournament on February 27th and didn't see Tony Anngioni, I thought he was there the month before.

I too, would like to have a monthly one-pocket tournament. The problems are twofold: starting at noon and finishing by the 3:00 a.m. closing time AND getting the one-pocket 'tradionalists' to play a ShootEmUp. I've taken part of Grady's rules and run with it, in that, anytime five or more balls are inside the headstring they spot up 'immediately'. Players like Buddy Hall, Ray Martin, Nick Varner, Tony Annigoni and some others don't like that rule. They like the slow, uptable, wedge, turtle-wins-the-race, style of play. I held a 'B & C' one-pocket event using these rules and everything went great. Actually, noone had to spot up five balls from the kitchen at any point during the tournament. The only fly in the ointment was that an unknown 'A' snuck in and snapped off the tournament... I'll let you know when and IF I can find enough interest to support a monthly or even a one time tournament. I'm still running the tournaments at Planet 9-Ball (I'm having the monthly 'last Sunday of the month' nineball tournament in a couple of hours), but I haven't hit a ball in a month and I've given up playing pool completely after more than 40 years..

I run a monthly One Pocket tournament.
Signups start at noon and end at 1pm.
Field has been as high as 32 players. $20 entry fee.
No Time limits for matches.
House adds up to $300 (based on $10/player up to 30 players)
Double eliminatioin Race to 2 both brackets.
The longest this tournament has ever run is 1130 pm with the finals going hill-hill in true DE. Even with some 'turtles', this format has been very sucessful for a long time.

Of course it would Tom , you have bookoo tables to work with. lol
Thats why we are starting a great handicap system developed by Ken Crenshaw that is intriguing and fun. We did it for awhile last year and Tony Valadez was running it but he had to leave us for awhile. We have to try and get back some playing since poker is really affecting pool here. This system gives everyone a chance and doesn't take quite as long.
