1st - this is when your gambling - Not A Tournament.
A player is bridging close to the cluster of balls near the spot. AFTER shooting a shot, his Bridge hand touches & moves 3 of the clustered balls very slightly. The cue ball never touches any of the moved balls and as a matter of fact, it never touches any ball except the object ball which is pocketed in his hole.
WHAT HAPPENS NOW ???

We've always played that the non-shooter gets the opportunity to restore the balls as close as possible to their original position. This has led to some pretty good arguments.
Or, just leave them the way they are, as long as they didn't provide and advantage to the shooter.

Unless the cue ball or a struck object ball hit one of the moved balls (or crossed over where they were), its not a foul. The non-shooting player has the option of restoring the balls or leaving them where they lay.
However, I did see an open class local player take on a road player in one pocket a few years ago. Before the match, the local player specifically stipulated that he would onlyl play if when bridging over a stack of balls, ANY ball moved with your bridge or cue would constitute a foul. I suspect he stipulated this becasue he didn't want the rodie pulling some type of move and "accidentally" moving balls to change the table layout.
Bottom line I think depends on what the norm is in your area. In my area it is "cue ball fouls only", unless stated otherwise.

I agree with the others, Tom. You could either have moved the balls back to where they were, or just leave them lay where they are. No foul. The balls should not newly be in an advantageous position for your opponent.

I couldn't believe this but - The shooter asked the other player what should be done. He said, I don't know. For some dumb unknown reason they asked a sweater (who can't even draw his ball) what happens here. The sweater says to the shooter - "You don't even want to know". The shooter, being a very honest player says "Yes, I do". The sweater says - Because you moved 3 or more balls - "YOU LOSE THE GAME"!
I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT - BECAUSE THERE WAS 3 OTHER GOOD PLAYERS WATCHING AND EVEN BETTING ON THE GAME AND NONE OF US SAID A WORD.
I later asked the shooter - Why didn't you ask one of us - instead of a guy who can't even play.
Here's the best part.
He says - "Because I had the nuts" and this might have convienced the other player to keep playing longer, if he thought I was that much of an idiot to listen to that crap.
Even I learned something that night.

What are peoples response to an all ball foul for tournament play. Ive seen the old timers play straight pool that way and it made the game seem much more tighter and clean. Varner played that way and did it beautiful. Snooker players of course play that way and it doesnt cause them any problems.

I'd love to see an "all fouls" for tournament play. I honestly believe that they stopped it because of all the long hair and sloppy, baggy clothes people wear today. Most people come dressed to tournaments as if they just took a break from yard work...

I agree doc...I kept wanting to pull those pants up on those kids in Starkville. They all needed a belt. And then you had Hennessee and his ipod and backwards cap. Geez...looked like a bunch of thugs walked up in there and played pool. Only a handful of respectable looking players to include Merkyone, Chuck, Bergman, and heck...even Jesse looked clean cut compared to most...thanks for lunch btw Jesse. :)

I am fairly new to the game but I have only played the way it was stated, the opponent get an option to move them back or leave them as they lie, no foul.
Sometimes I actually want to pull those pants DOWN just to teach a lesson..... :)
