I am looking for a used cue lathe like a Porper B or similar. I don,t want to make cues but be able to do almost anything else to them.
Ant recommendations. the $4,000 price tag on a new Porper is too high for just a hobby lathe, at least for me! :)

Look into a used gun lathe or similar.. We converted ours over with a diffferent chuck, and fabricated all our little necessary parts(bushings, fittings, etc) with the lathe itself...
BTW there is a lathe here in town similar to mine which is a metal fab setup self-feed, but the feed is a little loose(belt drag) .. I think they want 12 for it if you are thru town use my number! It is at G&H Industrial on Royal, not 4 blocks from the Pool Room. He has loads of stuff with it.
Also, FWIW Hightower sells used already set up for cues...
