Per capita, New York City is probably one of the weaker cities in the country for one pocket. Most of the intermediate players only play straight pool or 9-ball, and only the strongest players play much one pocket. There are a couple of places to find one pocket action:

Master Billiards/ Queens Blvd and 39th Street (which is hosting the Big Apple Challenge in August) and

Broadway Billiards/ Broadway and 21st Street
