Use follow...11 o'clock high cue ball, hit l/s of target ball....two rail it to your side as well as the other ball. The second pic shows the cue ball being closer to the rail than the other ball allowing to go forward w/o the side pocket coming into play. If I can't go forward, shoot the same shot but stick whitey on the long rail tit.

The 9 is a huge ball to kick at three rails.

Yes it is - piece of cake.

          I’m gonna need 3 after I shoot...

Gonna kick 3 rails softly behind the 9...

don’t see anything else other than the hero shot of trying to 3 rail the stripe and stun the cb off my long rail and back across underneath the 9... “fraught with peril”

I like the three rail kick at the 9 kinda ok with it going in the side or sitting near it

i cant tell if I can do this or not, but if I can, I may try to pocket the 9 in the side with low RHE and try to get to the long rail and then settle on the foot rail.

I am going to be giving up a 3 rail, bank, but at least this way, both balls are in play and he has to make the 3 railer to win or I get to take balls out or maybe win myself.

Looks to me like there might be just enough angle on the 9 to cut it toward the 13 for the fram and draw the CB just clear clear of the side pocket.

One trip of low left strike the side pocket ball to hit tit and get in play on while playing cue ball toward second diamond then over dehind 9 ball.

Cincy and Knuckles54 have it right. Any of these 3 rail shots might work out but why take the foul or take a big risk on hitting the 9 ball and a rail safely when there is an easy and safe shot off the side pocket ball (not a fan of these new colors) and then down to the bottom rail. And if it lies right, you might be able to catch the tit and send the side pocket ball over to the other side.

I agree with "OneRock," "One Pocket Ghost," and "catkins" that shooting the cue ball three rails and kicking the 9-ball away from my opponent's pocket with enough speed, not to scratch, is the best option.

jeff i would shoot the 3 rail kick your way

all you guys that want to kick at the 9 and get a rail play way better than me
                            but so i can learn
if you kick at the 9 3 rails
1)how do you be sure you get a rail ??
                            2)and not leave him a bank ?
                            EDIT ALERT
I TRIED THE SHOT ON A TABLE AND IF YOU HIT THE 9 FULL IT COULD TURN OUT OK
but thats only if you hit it full (jmho...icbw )

I believe I am moving the stripe by the side and getting my cb to the middle diamond on the end rail. My cb will have to go 2 rails to get there, judging how thick or thin i need to hit the stripe to get there.
