I cant believe how well this event was run. Having some experience with producing shows on a multi day level the amount of pressure and tenacity to keep things running smoothly is a Herculean task. DCC just keeps getting better.
Unfortunately I had to stay in California as I had just contracted to work with Disney and they would not let me leave town. But I was lucky to get gifted a viewing pass for AccuStats stream. The stream was perfect and had one freeze for about 3 seconds and that was it. I watched most of everything. Even the Bigfoot. Wasn't going to but the play was so incredible my eyes were glued.
The amount of one pocket matches were great. Only sorry we got to see 2 bank matches. But the show on the whole was great. John Cornflakes Hennigan texted me after his hit on Orcullo and Danny D was kind enough to call and let me know what was going on.
Kudos to John Brumback who did admirable in the whole event. I was praying for you Johnny. And congrats to all our members who made a showing. Particularly the west coast guys JHendy and Baby Huey. Of course Bernie P who is proof that good guys don't end up last.
We are very lucky to live in these times.

I would say the same from on site. With their unique buy back format there used to be a ton of forfeits due to schedule surprises, but they noe have well announced draw times and the schedules are streamed right to the hotel room TVs. Plus with everyone having cell phones people get reminder calls so forfeits are few and far between now,

The food near the tourney area still is limited but the Asian restaurant around the corner is excellent. I also eat at least two or three light meals at Binions -- usually sitting at the bar so its a decent quickie. In fact My last meal there was with John Schmidt and Mike Dechaine who both had the same idea lol.

Big Trucks live stream room is a terrific alternative to the free flowing action that the Casino did put a damper on, but even in the practice/action room there was plenty of entertaining action.

Its the pool highlight of my year that is for sure. And this year i could not believe how many onepocket.org members were there.

My most memorable story this year was sitting through the most exciting one pocket matches I can recall, most of them involving Alex P. For about ten to fifteen minutes two guys behind me kept talking about how unentertaining one pocket is (this during the finals between Alex and Mike)! If they didn't "get" one pocket during those matches, they never will. After hearing a bit too much of this I turned around and told them next year they are gonna allow us to use knives in one pocket to "liven it up a bit"! Ace nearly fell out of his seat when one of them answered, "Wow!"

I give up!
