And while all the match scores are listed in the 1967 results, there seems to be no obvious order to the list of matches. They are not chronological.

1967 as reported in the NBN, December issue:

Dates: October 20 through November 15, 1967
Location: Cue Club Billiard Academy, Show Bar, Johnston City, IL
Sanction: Billiard Players Association of America
Straight Pool to 150
Nine Ball best of 21
One Pocket best of 7

Great info, Bob, thank you. So the only bit that is currently missing is the 1972 Fall Event. Does anyone have any records of what is the last Johnston City event ?

I was going to college in Owensbpro,Ky and a guy who said he was a school teacher annihilated me in nine ball told me about Johnston City. I went, Winnie Beanie, Fats, the school teacher who annihilated me, Cornbread red, Ronnie Allen and everyone I ever admired. I stayed two days never once wanting a game for the first time in my average career. Steve Miserak was a very nice school teacher. Better nine ball player.

Miserak-- great story! I wish to hell I'd heard about the Johnston City events. I was at the Conservatory in Cincinnati from '62-'67, and it wouldn't have been that big of a deal to drive down to JC. I should have gotten better acquainted at Mergard's. Then I'd have heard about them! BTW, Mizerak was 1 month younger than I...

I know there was an article in Sunday Look from 1961 called "Hustlers Descend on Little Egypt". I cannot find it anywhere. Does anyone have a copy?
