If you guys don't like the dark format, select the menu at the bottom left (red circle in first pic) and choose Default vB5 Style. Looks like the second pic.

They could be red, doc. It looks like there are seven of them with a small white dot and an eight with a larger white dot (smaller than on numbered balls though) with a black dot in the center of it. Rod probably would know what they are because that's a younger him in the picture isn't it? JK!...

I was responding to what I assumed Bob Jewett meant by using a chess clock since he described adding seconds for quick moves as they do in timed chess using the clock. That's why I thought of players rushing to stop the clock to save the limited allotted time for the game. Maybe I misunderstood. It...

The player-operated chess clock concept doesn't seem workable to me for these reasons. The clock has to be placed somewhere that is fair for both players. I considered this when wondering about the penalty. Suppose the guy is in a trap and he gets to spot a ball after using up all his extensions but still stays at the table. Then he shoots the spotted ball in and runs out. That's all he needed. A crime, I tell you!For that reason I didn't like it...

That would be the same as an intentional taken by tapping the cb with the ferrule - spot one and sit down....
