This is a great post Tom. I think in order to improve your game you need to raise your expectations.

I like banking the 3 into the stack and moving more balls to my side but I don’t want to bring the cb back down table in case i leave a bank. That said, I am banking the 3 into 4 and dragging the cb up table towards my opponents corner. This may require a slight jump shot but nothing too difficu...

I concur. Dallas might be the worst major city to play pool in the US....

This is a good offensive shot but I see the cb landing well left of the 9. If correct, it’s important to get the 5 to the bottom rail or you will be leaving a cut on the 2 with z shape for the 5.
I am not suggesting I would shoot the 2 given the score but many would....Last edited by Hardmix; 11-29-2019, 11:00 AM.

When I first started playing 1P in Atlanta in 2015 I was playing some with Nate Coltrane, I knew he was a much better player than me but I had no idea he played that well. Unfortunately, for me he was banned from the pool hall and I have not seen him since....

Bank the 9 to your side drop the cb to end rail between 1st and 2nd Diamond.
Opponent will most likely thin off stack and put you in the stack. Start working your way out of the trap with 2 rail kicks at the balls in front of his pocket.

If you are hell bent a on leaving nothing, then there are 2 shots that I see. First is to float off the edge if the 8 to long/short rail and try to lock up behind the 1. If you miss getting behind the 1 the 8 should be pretty close to the long rail leaving a very difficult bank at best. Obviously this...

I thought the buy backs were $60 or $80 last year. I also noticed they are now charging $50 for spouse badge. Looks to be a bit of a money grab.

Cliff if you miss the safe high on the 2 your opponent is going to stick you behind the 1 which is no bueno and if you are low you sell out t bank.
I don’t like the risk vs reward here....

Jeff, to be honest, I don’t recall how I played the shot. Maybe Mark does.

I think this is a WWYD that you need to take a honest assessment of your skills at the time. If you are not shooting well then the obvious choice is to break up the combo and drop behind the 12. For me personally, I will likely choose to shoot the 1 90% of the time. There is too much up side for...

That pic would make a great shirt with “Got change or Got pennies” on it.

I played on the 4” table with the roll. The bed is slow and the rails are fast....

So Peter can’t make it but I am confident I will find a game. I walk in and see I guy I know from Atlanta playing a match. They finish up and my friends opponent, who seems familiar to me but I cant place, introduces himself as Cliff and asks for 9/7. I give it to him to get the game going. After...
