On second thought........

As entitled to us "Old Farts" - My Oldtimers may be acting up again. I may have been thinking of Pittsburgh John and not Pittsburgh Mike.

Thanks, OHB

I think I was there the last 3 years.

Doc - Johnston City is only about an hours drive from St. Louis (less if you going back to get more cash). I think I was there for just the last 3 years
There was A LOT of action almost all the time...

I got to know him a little in Detroit.

He spent quite a bit of time in Detroit when the action started each year. Good OP player and pretty good overall. Pretty gruff type fellow to get along with and I would want to know the whole story...

I have known Beenie since Johnston City. Had many good times with him in Vegas and Detroit. We had a nice dinner at the '05 DCC. I could tell the stroke had taken its toll on him and he wasn't as...

Bank the one ball.

I would just bank the one ball pretty hard and freeze the cue ball to the top of the stack. Might either get lucky OR at least get some balls around your hole.

John - You answered your own problem.

You say - I almost NEVER shoot this shot -
I think this is a shot that is worth practicing until you get it down pat & get the confidence to shoot it without hesitation. Best if done on the table...

I LOVE THIS SHOT & I shoot the shot almost always...

I almost always play to make a ball in my hole - I don't know why anyone wouldn't unless you’re going to leave a shot for the other guy. But I have seen much better players than me, just skim the...

I don't think I would shoot it either.

Doc - But I have seen it shot. Usually out of desperation, like you said.
Another reason it has to be shot hard is to keep the cue ball from curving.

This is a Pinch Shot.........

It is hit with extreme middle right english, The reason it is shot hard is because you need to make the object ball indent into the cushion so the cue ball has a chance to get out of the way. The...

Sweators, Sweat - Bettors, Bet & Players Play.

The un-written rule of gambling is "keep your mouth shut" unless asked for an opinion or call.
Then if it is in the favor of the player your betting on, say so.
If your opinion goes against the...

You should remember me because I looked just like my avatar photo back then in '77. I played Gitar Jim at J.D.'s many times.
Your right - Louie was quite a charactor.

I've been very Lucky................

Barbox One Hole..............

One of the best OnePocket matches I've seen was on a barbox in Vegas between "Surfer-Rod" & "Squirrel". They played for over 12 hours and Rod won because he kept jumping over the stack.

I agree with Grady..... Except One .....

I have already told of the time that Buddy busted The Jockey in Detroit. He was so mad at Buddy that he took his cue and threw it like a spear right at Buddy who was only about 15 feet away. It...
