I say legal

Jacked up with an open bridge usually sends the cue tip above the balls while the cushion compresses. I can see how the shot is tricky to call but no foul occurs if shot properly. A magnificent...

Its a foul.

I like 'all fouls ball in hand'. Behind the line,of course. Works for you and works against you. Just like every other rule. But it simplifies things.

Its staring you in the face.

Jack up a little. Shoot the 2-10 combination for the 10 one rail. Draw the cue ball toward Efren's pocket, perfect speed leaves whitey in the jaws of his pocket.

After one

After each player has shot another inning with no mention of the mistake all fouls are forgiven. Both players are at fault for not catching it sooner. You snooze, you lose. Its covered in the rules,...

au contraire

Making the corner ball is talent, all the way. Spotting a ball made on the break is ludicrous. By the reasoning, if I scratch on the break there's no foul. So, according to those rules, there's no...

Grady had it right. If you rack your own, your opponent picks which pocket he wants. That keeps both players honest.

tough call,but

When I was first learning one pocket, a mentor said "its hard to make a ball if you have to shoot from your pocket".
I'd think I'd hit the head rail with left, around 945 on the clock, make the...

don't overthink this.

If the light is lit, the shadow is outward from the center line. For example, if you're standing between the side pocket and the corner pocket is to your right. You can play the ball cross side OR...

here's a thought

Put all players on a shot clock, 60 seconds with one 60 second extension per player per game. If you run out of time, its a foul, you lose a point and the opponent shoots from where the cue ball sits....

by the book

You call the six, but shoot the three. The rules are clear "called ball". As for telling my opponent that he's about to foul?? Are you serious?? I'm there to win, not help my opponent. He should be...

Artie said it all in one sentence.

"Why would I want a weaker player shooting at easy pickets". That sums it up. Thanks Artie. As usual, great advice.

I'm with the majority.

I think the tighter pockets would benefit the mover. To echo a few members, moving balls to your zone is invaluable. Great question.

try this...

Hit it harder. You can't float this shot. You have to get spin on the object ball. It'll gain spin every cushion it hits. It gotta be whirling when it hits the 4th rail. Just hit it harder, force...

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot !!

What are you talking about? First, I love that shot. It scares my opponent. Second, if you apply the wrong spin it won't go. The object ball has to hit the fourth rail with running spin off the third...

not easy but

I can make androds shot. The force follow catching the same rail three times. Jeez, I might make it hit four times. It sure isn't an easy shot, but its certainly makable.

finally,a believer !!

I'm a huge fan of the half ball bank. I learned it in 1971-72 in Providence . Hitting exactly 1/2 of the object ball is the easy part. This will sound crazy, but look at the object ball, notice the...
