Congrats on a good showing, and thanks for the write up! After playing you in Chicago, I am not surprised you did well. You really shoot great! What does surprise me is how well you remember...

Darmoose’s “one pocket going forward” rules

I’m not a fan of using coins to keep track of things. IMO the only balls on the table should be those required to end the game. “Keep it simple, stupid.”

What Would Boost the Participation Rate in a Typical One-Pocket Tournament?

Usually there is a top player. Put a bounty on him and make it good. Change (what some may view as) a negative into a positive

Managing One Pocket tournament time --DCC edition

Agreed. As much as I wanted to go the last two years, I didn’t go because of the $. Raise the price and it’s no longer an option.

Statistics showing the break has minimal effect on game outcome

I think the tv table at DCC saw players with much better ball running ability, where runs of 7 and 8 may have overcome the initial advantage enough to lower the percentage a bit. How much? Who...

WWYD up 2-0 playing god for your soul

I shot the 15 off the 11 and rolled the cue ball forward and it ended up a few inches behind the 1...I didn’t make it but it was an effective shot. I think I shot it with high right.

Unusuall position after the "break"

Yes I’ve been there, and this is what I would do and have done. I’m not sure where exactly you want to aim, maybe between 3rd and 4th ball...I haven’t practiced it...yet.
