From tinkering around with various ideas over the last couple of years, here is a new spin on an old idea that works like a charm.
Take a PVC livestock feed bowl (large - about 18" radius) and use spray adhesive and/or plumbers PVC cement and affix a pack of Scotch-Brite Non-Scratching Scour Pads (use the blue ones, not the green ones). Attach the pads evenly along the lower perimeter of the bowl. Let it dry/cure overnight and simply scrape off any excess glue with your fingernail.
Take a 3/8" drill bit and pop a couple holes about 1/2" apart in the lip of the bowl. Use a beefy zip tie to "hold" your buffer's cord in place.
It cleans and polishes an entire set of balls in less than a minute.
As the balls spin, I think the stuff that works best is (A) a few sprays of Brillianize Plastic Cleaner - let them spin for about 20 seconds, then (B) hit them with a few pumps of Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer and let them go for another 20 seconds or so. Wipe off with a microfiber rag and they are like new.
If you make one, all I ask is that you just call it "The Miller."
