I like the idea of a seniors one pocket tournament. Live streaming it would be a gas. The age should be 65 yrs old and I disagree with Henderson who wants to lock it up and make it 75 years to enter. There would be only two entries and that would be Almanza and Henderson. That match could be billed as Back To The Future and probably be a big hit.

So we compromised and made it 70 years old. Just enough to keep a few monsters out.:D

I never said we had to play the 8 ahead straight through. Im 330 lbs. do you really think Im looking to see ho can outlast someone? LOL We can play 6 hours a day until someone gets 6 ahead. If someone beats me I want them to really beat me so I know it. Do you realize that if Scott and Alex had played sets Scott might of came out ahead or broke even by the way the games went.. Meanwhile by them playing the 8 ahead do you have any doubt who the better player is?

Yes your points are all valid ones. I was just adding my 2 cents worth. Its really up to you and Wayne to figure it all out. I was just trying to figure out the most optimal conditions.
Of course you know Scott and Alex are just shy of 40 years to the best of my knowledge. I know Alex is 39. So an Ahead set is feasible for them. Wayne is much senior to them.

I don't know if Efren had to play 6 hours a day straight for several days, during the Make It Happen, if he would be the favorite. What with his age and physical condition. But with only playing races to 3 during that event do you have any doubt who the best player was?

Its funny you brought up Efren... It was right before the Make It Happen event that I said that efren was still the best player and Everyone said he was over the hill and couldn't beat the guys.... HMMM now that he won races to 3 does everyone now think he is the best again?

You nailed it.

I wanted you to be right, but I was doubtful.

Good call.

Last year Pat Fleming gave me a call and asked if I was going to be a participant in making it happen. I asked if Efren was going to be a part of it.
He told me no, Efren had a schedule conflict. I told him I would be disappointed, as so many others, as I still felt he was the best one pocket man around.

Several months later Pat called me up and said, "Efren's people just called and said he can make it". And when Pat told me Billy and Danny D were going to do the commentary I immediately committed.

I never underestimated the man.

There are seven players (posters) mentioned I would not play even.
Hacker, Wayne, Jerry (Baby Huey), Bernie, Brumback, Billy I. & Chicago Mike.

I think everyone else would take turns beating each other and I would love to play them all. I think I would win some and lose some. Look me up at the Derby.

what's a fair game with you and the good doctor? (PM ok....)

interesting topic. i almost think of it as putting players in "tiers." i think you need to define the context as well -- for how guys currently play. then you have to consider how to weigh players that you have never seen hit a ball but you have heard about their speed or know someone who they have played....

anyway, here's my list (probably something in here to offend everyone ;))

top tier:
brumback

second tier (throw a dart):
bernie, hacker, wayne

third tier (throw more random darts):
figueroa, matchin, jtom, ghost, henderson, chicago mike, rodney, tom tom, incardona, stroud, almanza

fourth tier:
pretty much everyone else - could be tiers within this list

:)

update.
need to add senor and big tres to the third tier of the miller rankings.
:)

Tres plays well.

The thing about your qualifications, some of them rarely post like Tres and a couple of others

Or just never play anymore at all...As that fits my current playing status, I respectfully submit my username be removed from any rankings ;).

I would post if I felt like anything could be added to the conversation. Usually by the time I read a WWYD, the Ghost and the Hacker have covered just about every imaginable shot :)
