Maybe there are a few who can beat it... Maybe a few in the entire world.. I don't believe it, but I will concede there might be just a few... And they won't last!!!

I'm making this a journal entry, simply because I don't want any discussion, no rebuttals, no comments whatsoever... I am the sole authority here and my word is the law...

Nobody is the favorite to win on the year playing this nightmare of a poker game, I don't care their credentials, I don't care how many books they have written or how many they have read, I don't care how big their bankroll is, or if they are considered the absolute best player in the world, when push comes to shove, it's whoever gets lucky when the chips go in... That's right, whoever is the luckiest in that particular pot, doesn't have anything at all to do with skill...

I'm going to explain it for those readers who are in doubt about what I'm saying... There is very little dead money anymore, everyone plays pretty good... That said, few will get their money in with second set or second flush and everyone who is on a draw, is drawing at the nuts... Seldom do I see someone drawing at a poor flush, unless it's combined with a wrap, or top two pair, or a dbl gutter, or top set... So when people go to war and fog the chips in, they have legitimate hands and it's almost always a coin flip as to who wins the pot...So I believe luck is all Omaha high poker is all about...

In Houston, where they wack the pot 10% of the first $350.00 that's goes into the pot, it's impossible to beat... That's right, impossible... The house gets all the money, nobody wins for the year!!! How's that for a rant!!! Imagine this, and you will have a good concept of how impossible it really is to win at Omaha high in the city of Houston...

You and 9 other people take turns flipping a coin for $350.00. Every time you flip the coin, the house reaches in and takes $35.00 out of the $350.00 Sometimes several of you decide to flip and the pot swells to $3000.00... The house takes it's $35.00 and the lucky winner gets the pot... If he quits right there, he's winner for the day, but thats not usually the case, he usually stays and keeps flipping in hopes of winning another big pot...

That's all the house needs to get all the money... They just need the game to continue, hour after hour, day after day, and they will end up with all the money... Houston had 1000's of players a few years back... The wheat has been separated from the chaff and the cream has risen to the top... There's no dead money at the table anymore in Houston, and even though the wack is much smaller in the casinos all around the world, and the player pool is much larger, mark my words, Omaha is on the decline... It may take another year or so, but the people who are trying to make a living playing this total Nightmare On Elm Street of a game will eventually see the light... They will realize that it's not as much fun as it used to be when there were other fish in the tank besides the sharks they are swimming with now... These are the facts about Omaha and they are undisputed... At least in this journal entry...:heh:heh

P.S. Please, no PM's telling me how you are beating the Omaha... You may be ahead today, but its a temporary condition... keep better records and call me at the end of the year, if you last that long...
