Even if someone did not play in the tournament, it will be a great time. I plan on playing, but will also be looking for a little action too.

Too early for the serious barking, but I am going to fire a few barrels at as many old timers as I can.:D

I'm hoping to get a few days off and come meet and play some of you guys. I'm a five hour drive away

That would be great Jim, of course you will get action from several of the guys I'm sure. Lots of these guys love action, and since we are doing a race to 3 instead of 4, I'm certain some will have plenty of energy left to play a few games on the side.

Tier adjustments could be in the making!

We gotta have Rodney drag his butt across town and cough up 2 C's, even though playing tournaments is beneath him...;)

And what about OldSpurGuy from Beaumont? There must be several other old duffs in the general area who would love to play.

Throw some Ovaltine and Viagra in the car, and hit the road!:D

I'm not quite old enough yet Doc, but I surely will try and come sweat some of it.

Would love to learn a few things from you guys. Y'all have to give up some of those secrets before you forget 'em yourselves!!

Bogies has 7 Gold Crowns and 1 Diamond table, all are triple shimmed and will have new Simonis cloth installed just prior to the tournament. I have had several requests to consider lowering the entry age to 65, but I have told them all, not a chance!!! Live longer and we'll see you when you grow up.

I'm not concerned about filling the field, but I am curious if it would be kosher for someone to post the particulars of this event on AZ Billiards, or other sites that concern themselves with billiards. Does anyone know if that would violate some principle? Or if it's allowed by AZ Billiards?

I am sure it would be fine to post the info on AZ and with the organisers permission will put up a post. Later on We can have Bill put the streaming information on there too.

I agree about not lowering the age limit. Let those youngsters start there own tournament,
.:D

At the risk of sounding overly cautious, it would be prudent to let it be known that ID's will be checked. With today's complete absence of morals and standards, you can be sure that someone will try to sneak in at age 65, 60, or even 55. I know that no one HERE would do that...:)

I started to mention that. I think we agreed that 70th BD this year would be OK, even if Nov-Dec.

For those of you willing to pay the freight, I can have an ID for you that reflects an age to qualify for the Crippled, Retarded, Addled, Procrastinating, Senile, players tournament. CRAPS ID's are for the discriminating pool player who yearns for immediate gratification rather than the decades of wasted yuth, years of chalking, millennium of years perfecting going bust all in one ID to play in this glorious event. PayPal only

For those of you who would enjoy staying very close to Bogies during your visit,( less than a mile.) Here's the place.

Rodeway Inn & Suites
2531 FM 1960 East
Houston, Texas 77073
# 281-821-9900

Google it if you wish, it has a 4 star rating and good reviews.
All the single rooms have king size beds
Free Wi-Fi
Free breakfast
Rates are $60.00 during the week, $65.00 on Friday & Saturday
I will stop by soon and visit with the Mgr. and see if I can get a little reduction in that rate if we get several people to stay there. If that suits any of you, let me know so I can get a rough idea about how many will be staying there.

P.S. It's a small hotel, they only have 29 total rooms available, so if this suits you, better make a reservation soon. It would probably be very nice for those of you who are traveling to have fellow one pocketeers staying close by. Just a thought, you know, breakfast in the morning, sharing last nights action, matching up for later after your tournament match.

That's where I was planning to stay, but I haven't reserved yet. I'll wait a few days to see whether you can work something out, but you can count me in to any group package. (FastEddie may already be booked there.)
