Well, here we go ! Never before seen onepocket from 17 years ago!!! These matches are brought to you by sappo from the onepocket.org site. He shipped the VHS tapes to me and I converted them over to be able to upload to Vimeo. Since youtube has a 15 min restriction (unless you get lucky and the remove it), I uploaded to Vimeo so they can be shown in their entirety. These VHS tapes were from the owner of the Billiard Playground, who taped some of the matches when the US Open was held there, in Kalamazoo, MI.

For some unknown reason, there is no audio on the tapes. As far as the quality, keep in mind these were taken with 17-20 year old technology as far as camcorders, plus you got the tape degradation from 17 years of sitting around, the conversion from tape to digital format and the uploading to Vimeo. Considering all of that, these matches are perfectly fine to get to watch some great onepocket from our players of almost 2 decades ago.

The tournament details: (thanks to Mark Griffin for the details, maybe more to come)
Aug 25-28th at Billiards Playground in Kalamazoo, MI.
Grady was the Tournament Director. A article mentions Ed Hall was the owner, but Matt Rosendahl was heavily involved.
$100 entry
39 player field
$10,200 in prize money
Billy Incardona was the winners bracket winner and came in 2nd to Joyner.
1st -Cliff Joyner $2,800
2nd -Billy Incardona ($2,000)
3rd -Willie Munson ($1,500)
4th -Grady Mathews ($1,000)
5-6th -Ritchie Richeson $500
5-6th -Cornbread Red $500
===========================================
All of the matches will be grouped together in a album on my Vimeo site. You can get to the album here

if you have trouble with the video below, just click the link above to the album that has all the videos in them.. you can then watch it directly from Vimeo.

actually I dont' have that cool feature enabled yet... got to do more testing.:)

with vimeo.. it's as easy as clicking on the embed link n the video, customziing it for how big you want it. I never make anything larger then 900 wide to try and fit as many people as possible's, monitor. Then copying the embed code, going over here and clicking on the Insert LInk icon in the post toolbar area and pasting the embed code in.

Once, I implement that cool mod though.. everything will be as easy as simply copying the URL/Link of the video and pasting it in the post and the mod will do the rest. It will be TOO COOL :D:)

Calired...You are doing it all wrong...:frus !

Let me suggest clicking on the turbo link, instead of the embed link...Also try making it 4800 wide. (always works well, for me) then copy the url link to the turbo,..and the paste the toolbar into your modular device (Gorilla Glue works well)..Give me a call, if you are not clear on this...

SuperDuck <--for what its worth, has helped Steve Jobs many times, (with his paper route).. when we both lived in San Jose !

PS..Seriously, I actually did live in Cupertino, but I left well before Job's and Wozniak graduated 8th grade...There was no Apple, or Silicon Valley...Everyone from San Jose, was called a 'Prune picker'...By the way, there is an excellent article on Job's, (almost a bio)... in Rolling Stone Magazine. Don't buy it, I will enclose it with my laptop, when I send it to you, (to clean up the little things, I can't be bothered with)...along with a full, 1/10 bottle of Yukon Jack..:focus

Great job Greg. I've never seen Willie Munson play and this was a treat even though he came up against a Billy I. that was hitting 'em pretty good.

I watched a little of the Ghost and some of RR and liked it all.

I'll see more when I have the time.

Honestly I don't remember when I joined the site or how long ago....Just mainly lurked....

I decided to spend a good relaxing day going back 100 or so pages and going thru them 1 by one with skipping 4-5 here n there..

I came across this thread and thought maybe there were a few new guys like me who didn't know about these videos!

That Im taking a very very VERY serious liking to 1 pocket over every other game lately. Why not come to the one site dedicated to it! In fact I bought Grady's Killer One Pocket this week and watched it this morning.... The simply great stuff!
