Default World One Pocket Challenge Match

Ronnie Allen vs. Danny Diliberto. Shot at the Golden Eight Ball in Phoenis in 1988. The bet was twenty grand - REAL MONEY! Not too shabby for that time.

Ronnie still played close to his top speed (maybe 90%) and Danny was in his prime. It was a great match (three out of five sets, each set a Race To Five), nearly ten hours long. There is some stellar shot making and ingenious moves (you will rewind more than once), and nothing is left out. The conversation between the two players is almost as good as the pool. This match was professionally recorded by a crew we brought in from Los Angeles.

I just made twenty new copies of this match. Available thru my website, jayhelfert.com. I pay the shipping on this one! Please add $3 if ordering thru Paypal for their commission.

I have enjoyed watching this. You also get to see a variety of other pool characters drift back and forth sweating the match.

Puckett, Beenie, Keith and Platis were all in attendance.

I think he came in the second day and tried to match up with Harry. When they couldn't make a game, he left. I doubt he was there more than a few hours. I don't know that he even watched (or cared about) the match.

This photo looks like it may have been taken there. What do you think, and do you know who the third person is?
