Default Happy Birthday Ronnie Allen!

One of the greats of our game...

In the background, there's Pat Fleming and Harry Platis looking on...

Default The greatest

Happy Birthday to the Jack Nicklaus of one-pocket!! I doubt if Ronnie lurks online, but I'm sure our man John Henderson will relay everyone's birthday wishes.

Cool who played Ronnie first ??

Suki, Bucktooth got to be right there with you. The matchup took place at the Elmhurst Billiards, on East 14th St and 96th Ave. about a block from Tooths house. The year I'm not certain about, could be 1957. Ronnie was peddling books door to door. They played 9 ball and I think they broke even, I was in with Tooth and I don't remember any great losses. I do remember being in on some business at Kips in Berkley but I cant recall how those sessions turned out. George

It was 1956 when I first remember playing him. Me and One Eye Hank played him and Richie partners at Cochrans. I have a hard time remembering all those details. I know Hank also played Bucktooth around them and Bucktooth ended up chasing Hank around the room throwing snooker balls at him. Those were the days my friend.
