My pocket is bottom right. I need one ball and my opponent needs 5 (playing him 8-7)

I would just take a light kick at that red ball myself. I would be playing to roll up close to the blue ball with the white.

You don't want to loose from here. Kick to the other side of the red. Bump and fall on the rail. You could glance off if you kick intending to settle onto the blue.

I like this shot also, but, what do I know about kicking! I'm just a "part time" 3C player NOW!

This is my choice. Getting one ball to my side and breaking up that combo. I'm waiting for a better opportunity to clear the balls from his pocket. If he decides to bank the eight he gives me a shot on the winning ball.
Looks like there is a spot in this game . Ball count is not right for an even game.

I'd play off the 1ball and put it on my side, to protect against the long rail bank.
With a little spin I might get under the red.

This is the shot I like, with the possibility of relocating three balls to my side, plus pulling the cue ball to the bottom rail is relatively easy.

Rod, you could be my partner anytime. Good thinking.
