Default WWYD new cloth

Brand new cloth -- actually brand new table too -- Gold Crown 5. The club I play at just upgraded to two new GC 5's.

Anyway, my opponent laid down a pretty nice break. Got any ideas?

Draw off the one and get in front of his pocket. Or, get in the same spot by kicking 2 rails at the 10. Do your damndest to keep the 8.

One reply is banking the 1 across and going 3-4 rails to in front of his hole. If I thought I could pull that off, that might be what I'd try. If not, I like straightback's shot drawing off the 1.

If NEW pool cloth is anything close to NEW 3C cloth, the CB will come off the 3rd rail WAY TOO long, running into the balls in the stack maybe!

That shot might actually work on new cloth that is still sliding out of control. I would want there to be a little more angle if I was going to be banking on that much slide, though.

Once I set the balls on my table, I knew there was no way I was shooting that, even on my cloth! Diagrams. Harumph!

What do you think about just going 3 rails with the cue ball and getting behind the two balls??

I think it will work and is an easy shot, but I hate taking fouls.

I see two shots.

I would look hard at the 2 rail first into the 9, 9 into the 10. Freeze the QB on the 7.

the other is four rails into the 10.
