So, in trying to get there, I pitched it to my wife and youngest that they could join me. Since they wouldn’t stay in the Pool room long, what can I tell them is nearby to do or sight see?? My wife loves California so is open to the possibility. Any locals can help me sell it???? Lol.

there is more to do in the bay area than most any place in the country.
you can kill a week in san francisco and not see it all. beaches are only a drive away. great wineries, amusement parks, drive south to the best aquarium in the world. one of the best china towns. a few casinos nearby and poker rooms. live plays. art galleries, fantastic parks with good weather, boat trips around the bay, trip to alcatraz island.
drive down the coast to ana nueavo to walk with the elephant seals on the beach area. hit up santa cruz for a day trip. an hours drive from the city.
walk in the redwoods across the golden gate bridge.

Don't know if this would be helpful but ...

There’s the Great Mall in nearby Milpitas. To the east and south are outlet centers in Livermore and Gilroy. To the south you have Santana Row in San Jose. San Francisco has Union Square. Across the nearby San Mateo Bridge is the Stanford Shopping Center. To the north is the Vacaville Outlets in wine country.
There’s the Computer History Museum in Mountain View. Intel has a small company museum on their campus. Winchester Mystery House is also in San Jose. Various museums in San Francisco such as The Asian Art Museum, Contemporary Jewish Museum, Disney Museum in the Presidio. Lawrence Hall of Science is in Berkeley.
As was mentioned, there is Alcatraz which you get to via ferry from the San Francisco Ferry Building. From the same building, you can also take a ferry to Angel Island.
Of course there’s the usual famous tourist attractions such as the Golden Gate bridge you can walk across. Also there, Coit Tower, Golden Gate park, Presidio, the fort under the Golden Gate, Fisherman’s Wharf, Yerba Buena Gardens. In Oakland, there’s Jack London Square and Hiller Aviation Museum.
The various wineries in Napa and Sonoma can take take a day at least esp if you also take the tours. However, you might want to check beforehand because of the fires. The Charles Schulz Museum is in the area in Santa Rosa. There’s also wineries in the Livermore area.
For the wagering sort, there’s various card rooms in the Bay Area. There’s also various Indian casinos in the area which have shuttle buses to and fro. I believe there’s some that leave from the Fremont BART station. In Emeryville, there’s a horse track that offers $1 Sundays.
There’s several universities in the area if a few want to tour schools. Keep in mind a few may be in finals during that time.
There’s baseball games and maybe the Warriors will still be in the playoffs still.

This popped up right on the google page for Fremont:

Quick facts
Fremont is a city in California's San Francisco Bay Area. The Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum traces the early days of filmmaking through artifacts and photos. Mission San José is a 1700s Spanish Mission, with a reconstructed church and a museum. The Ardenwood Historic Farm demonstrates horse-powered farming, and features a Victorian mansion. Central Park is home to Lake Elizabeth and the Aqua Adventure Water Park.

Last Year;

We (4 of us) took the commuter train to the city, rode the trolley, walked around ate at the wharf did some shopping, made it a whole day affair.

If it's a cold/cloudy/windy day, wouldn't recommend outdoors/cab tho.
There'd be no bums, and no street music.

There were allot more people down town than I remember last time. :D (1970) and there was no Bart.

Taking the Bart might be fun. They were planning the build out in 70.

I doubt if there was there any other room in N. America, that had more mirrors on their walls than the Palace.??????????????

Take a walk down market street, get a pick of the street, you should be able to find the two upstairs buildings where Cochrans/Palace were at.

and the feminists keep telling us that there are no differences between the sexes.... one fine day we were driving to Laguna to go diving. two guys and two feminists. the distributor bushing goes bad and the car breaks down. do the feminist ladies help us with the car? nope, they go shopping while the men fix the Volvo. :lol

I can't believe this was left off the lists: if the wives get tired of pool, they can play 3 cushion at Edgie's in Milpitas - just a short drive.

Looking forward to seeing you all and meeting the better halfs, sorry mine cannot make it.

Too much to list. Go online and you will find endless possibilities. Are you staying in San Francisco? If not you might be able to ride the BART to San Francisco depending on your local. We used to spend a month in the Bay Area in the summer toget away from the Texas heat. The only city with more attractions is New York. Just prepare ahead of your trip.
