I've put this in before, and it was uncommented/unpopular, etc.

Has the line been drawn that sponsoring a player is the goal i.e. trying to get a return on the money. Or is it to send someone who is a true one pocket player.

I ask because it seems the list of people who get nominated are players who either would play on their own, or could play on their own. VS a large list of people who love the game, and don't play near as well as the listed guys, but the appreciation level is exactly the same.

We have sent a mix over the years. We don't have too many world beaters -- at least at their current ages lol

Hey thanks but I can still think of others -- for example how about Alex Lely (Eengat) -- the principal ambassador of One Pocket (and onepocket.org) in Europe?

Sounds like a great event for New England! Probably not since the days of Grady's tournaments have they had such a prestigious event up there.

The format for the straight pool is interesting; probably similar to the old world invitationals. I'm not sure how the round robin is charted out for 48 players. It must be in blocks. 100 point matches ought to go pretty quickly with top players. Probably will be several run-outs.

On the heels of the SBE, this event will surely fill.
