My first thought was to bank the 4 at the stack and draw the cueball up a little towards the end rail. Then I thought about the 2 rail kick. I think thatís a better shot since cueball goes into the stack, but if it hits the wrong side of that dead ball you sell out

Well I looked at the two rail kick. Because the OB was a bit off the rail, I was afraid of the cue missing the stack and selling out the 1 if it didnít go.

We had boxed for a few innings already and I had not gotten a chance to break up the 8/7 and it was really bothering me, so without an obvious offensive shot, that was a goal for this inning, whatever I shot.

I looked at thinning off the one but was afraid of selling out the ball on the bottom rail.

***I shot Toddís choice of banking the 4 into the stack and drawing the cue just a hair to try to get something towards my hole and maybe hidden behind the stack. Nothing went to my hole but I broke up the combo and pushed 3 balls to my side that he now had to deal with.

***Im sorry I was unable to get a pic of the result.

with the cue ball in the open and a free look at the 5
was your opponent in alot of trouble to counter the results of your shot ??

Well the balls from the stack went below the 5 so he did not have a free shot and had to duck off of one of those balls. So now we continued boxing but at least I had broken up that combo and had threats on my side.

Normally I like banking a ball into the stack in general layouts like this. But in this case i was afraid that the 4 or one of the other balls would glance out and sell out a ball or two to the opponent's hole. But you hit it good, and it turned out well. Good wwyd.

Thanks Doc. Frankly I had the same fear.

Nice shot Rod ~

The CB gets into the catcher's mitt a lot better when you aim a little to the left to try and miss the ball as you said so that you hit the stripe thin...

good eye!
