I was watching a game yesterday, middle of the game. Player a scratched, ball in hand behind the line for player b. Player b shoots a ball that also was behind the line. Misses, hits three or four other balls and the excitement starts. What's the ruling

Generally if there is a referee they will determine if a ball is behind the line. Did anyone before the shot determine which balls were in the kitchen?

should be loss of game
shooting a ball behind the line is a foul
disturbing 2 or more balls is loss of game
