OnePocket.org is pleased to announce the scheduling of three special local One Pocket Hall of Fame events to honor inductees Eddie Taylor, Jack ‘Jersey Red’ Breit, and Larry ‘Boston Shorty’ Johnson on their ‘home turf’. Fellow inductee Grady Mathews has generously offered to act as Master of Ceremonies at all three of these events, as each of these legendary players is celebrated for their outstanding place in the history of One Pocket.
The Eddie Taylor One Pocket Hall of Fame event will be held Saturday, April 2nd at Sidepocket Billiards in Shreveport, LA. Good health permitting, Eddie is planning to attend. Eddie is one of the true icons of all of pocket billiards, and this is a rare opportunity to celebrate his living legacy with him. For further information call Brett at 318-425-8112.
Late One Pocket legend ‘Jersey Red’ will be remembered at a One Pocket Hall of Fame night in his honor at the Cue & Cushion, in Houston, TX, to be held Monday, April 4th. One of Red’s last favorite haunts, the Cue & Cushion was recently purchased by an after hours legend in his own right, Jimmy ‘Flyboy’ Spears. 2003 US Open champion Jeremy Jones is expected to be among the special guests joining Master of Ceremonies Grady Mathews in recounting Red’s legacy. The late ‘Boston Shorty’ will be remembered for his outstanding One Pocket career at a One Pocket Hall of Fame night in his honor on Thursday, April 28th at Brighton Billiards, in Boston MA. This event will feature several of Shorty’s longtime friends, recalling some of the highlights of one of New England’s all-time great cue artists. Fellow players, friends, and fans of these players are encouraged to come to take in the stories, and maybe even contribute a tale or two of their own as these legends are welcomed into the One Pocket Hall of Fame. Grady does a fantastic job at this kind of thing, and with other ‘special guests’ chipping in additional stories, these three events should be all be VERY memorable GOOD TIMES.
