You have the top pocket and your opponent just shot your hanging ball in making it hill hill. How do you play this shot so you don't leave a bank for your opponent?

I'm not sure what you mean? Anyway, I'm thinking you mean I have the pocket closest to the cb. If so I play this shot like this,

START(

Thanks Chris I'm going to play that way.I tried thinning the object ball and sending the cue ball two rails back to the bottom rail but the object ball came out for a two railer.

Hummm, the two railer is definitely a free shot and one that you really don't want to give up. You could always try the three railer back to your hole but speed is critical. Plus having to send whitey down table might give up the cc bank and that's not good either. Tough call. I like the bank because I play the shot often and if I get the table speed down it's good for me.

How do you open or access the picture of the shot? I see a set of instructions in your post but I'm not computer literate enough to use them.

Highlight the words with instructions starting with Start( using your left mouse button and click copy using your right mouse button and then click above your post where it says WEI Table and once there click paste.

Hi Mike,

You'll never believe all the stuff I just wrote to you I erased by accident. What a bummer anyway, take and click the your mouse on the ascii code (it'll light up blue) from start to end and right click copy. Then, go to the top right of your screen and hit, click here to see the WEI Table. Then, click paste. Then, OK, and OK. It should show you the setup the poster wants to show.

Now, to show a shot go to show a shot under the Message Board again hit show a shot. Then, click on the balls and drag them where you want. Also, click on the cb in the left corner and drag the english or top and bottom you want and once your done. Then, hit copy. The code will be in and go to your post and right click Paste.

Make sure you start the post first or you'll lose the code. Mine is downloaded and saved in my favorites for other boards well, for the ccb. What Steve has done here is made it easy and that's totally cool.

Regards,

C.C.

Damn, I can't seem to get the "copy" to work... Being 'puter illiterate strikes again... :(
I've shot the OB 2-rails (near the diagonal corner) back to my pocket leaving the CB by the other end rail. Speed is critical to avoid the OB/CB kiss though...

Thanks for your help. I had to download the program first but your instructions were right on.

It's a tough spot but I might do one of the following:

I might try to lay the cue ball on the ball if there's a little angle so I don't scratch.

START(
%AN9C9%BL7P8%CJ5O4%DL7N1%EM7P1%FK6P1%GK6N8%HM7N8%IL7O4%JK6M5
%KJ5P7%LJ5N2%MK6Q4%NJ5R0%OJ5M0%PD3D2%WM5C7%XD9D1%]O6C7%^O4C7
)END

I might also take a scratch to rather than try a shot where I'd sell out. The scratch depends on where I am in a set and who I'm playing.

Tx again Mike

This is what I meant... Speed is critical to miss the kiss and you also have to miss the scratch in the right side pocket... Leave the CB at "D".

On the stall

I don't like any offensive move from here. I would roll the object ball straight down the long rail, past the side pocket, leaving both balls more or less on that rail. Let your opponent move it from there. If he can make the two-rail shot, give him his money. I don't think he can.

I like the 3 rail shot too, Troy but you have to beat 2 kisses instead of just one. You stand a chance of double kissing the object ball on contact as well as off the 3rd rail. If you hit it well, I believe, that is the shot. You also give yourself the chance to win the game with the shot. None of the other options do that.

Assuming both the CB and OB are frozen to the side rail, I don't think the rules allow simply rolling the balls down the long rail. The return shot would simply be a "dink, dink" down that long rail.

Sorry for the post to an old topic. I saw this last week but was not registered. Pesonally no offensive move that I like with the c/b near the bottom rail. There are kisses and sell outs all over this one. Here is what I would do rail first, send the ball up table with enough speed to bounce off the end rail. I feel I can control the speed much better and wait for a much better opportunity. If leave in the right spot, I give up little. Giving up a two rail is possible but not probable. I think giving up a kick would be my concern.
