And Detroit???

I just am in a mood tonight, a fighting mood. I shit in my mess kit (a Johnny Archer quote-i think he says that), anyways thats what I did. and i'm hot. But since i'm old and crippled up and cant fight anyways, I hear all you ledgends on here talking of these 2 citys and the stories-Which I love.

So who was the baddest dude, in each city and if we put who ever we decide ion the right with each other who wins that fight?? the dertoit guy or the chicago guy.

this has nothing to do with pool,

It was Bad Bad Leroy Brown. Badder than Ol' King Kong, meaner than a junkyard dog.

most dead or killed

most dead or killed

Chuckie Warman -- owned a bar, used to lock the doors and then beat up everybody in the joint.
Cotton Maguire -- serving 30 yrs, murderer, tush hog, and bank robber.
Ray King -- killed by Cotton in a shoot-out after Ray had killed Cotton's friend Arky.

Frankie the German Sweihs, died recently of cancer. A hit man's hit man. He might have made all of the above pee in their pants. Arties "Pen" pal. (penitentiary) He was so horrible that famous hitman,Tony the Ant Spilatro (of "Casino" fame ) told his wife if she ever saw Frankie on their block to run in the house and call the police.

Deeman,

I used to keep an updated list whenever I went to a strange big city.

On that list would be everybody whose ass I thought I could kick.
If someone noticed their name on my list and said, "hey, you CAN'T kick MY ass."
I would respond with "you don't think so, huh." If they said NO, I simply said, "okay, then I'll cross you off my list"

I was a real badass in my prime.

Dick <----has a perfect record in barroom brawls... 0-126.

Chuckie Wormen was the toughest Man I ever seen fight in life. And he was the toughest ever in Chicago and on earth. And Frank was the only man I ever met that was fearless. And if you looked into his eyes nobody was home. And the only one he trusted was his German Sheapard DOG. And Al Capone was a Boss not a hit man and he had other people do his work. But thees are 3 champions in thier field. And I dont no anyone that was better. And the all had something in comen everyone feared them. And the were the real deal.

I though for sure somebody would mention that Gar fellow. I don't know if he could beat anybody up, but it sure sounds like he was as salty as they get.

In Al Capones day If I had to pick someone out of his crew it would be Frank Nitie but we all no Al capone was a tough caricture and he was very dangerous. And you can put Al Capone and John Gottie in the gangster hall of fame. Thier reputation and thier power specks for it self. But even with John Gottie THier was Samie Gravano. And Frank Nitie and the did the work. And we no who the palations dealt with and respected. It was Al Capone and John Gottie. THe had the power and the ran the show the were the head of the show. THe were like the president but had more power. And the made thier own laws and rules. BUt time changes everything. Nothing stays the same. And thier will always be new gangsters and killers and palitisons. And LIfe has meny unusual caracters. And Al Capone was a real gangster and tough guy. And thier will always be new king of the hill people in all games and buisneses sporte pool fighting and all the things that are in the world. And if the wrote about all the things that these people did. People would shit in thier pants and couldnt handale it. But that will not happen. THe only wright about some off the things the did. And some of the people tha dont wright about at all because it never gets out.

Gar was not a tush-hog, however, he feared no tush-hogs. He told mob juice collectors to kiss his ass.

These are legendary names you guys mention. Did you know these characters personally, or only by reputation? Did they ever visit, or frequent, poolrooms? Any stories?

I was very close to Chucky Wormen And Frank Swies and I new Cotten Miguere and his brother Doyle
Miguier I was very freindly with Ray King he use to hang out at Rosco and Damen Cuirt Johnsons pool room. And he would come in and bet on me and back me. Cotton Miguier could not have beay Ray King in a street fight and Chuckie Worman was the toughest man I ever seen with his hands. Not with a pistol. But I new all of these people and I was close to them . I did not no Al Capone or John Gottie or thier inforceers. Frank Nietie or Samie Gravano. To be the best you have to have that little bit extra that nobody else has. And these were the toughest people and most fiered people in thier time. THe are all in the top ten. And the stories these people could tell you will make todays movies look like child play. Because thier stories and what the did was REAL. Not made up baby stuff. THe were the real caracters. And the will be leginods in the real world. Not in a cartioon book. And the all got respect from everyone even the judges and the politicians. And the could wright some of the greatest stories in life with what the did.

I hate to make a post about something other than onepocket, but you can't believe what you see in the movies. The guy who beat Scalise and Anselmie with a baseball bat for turning on Al was Tony Accardo, which earned him the nickname "Joe Batters" and went on to rule Chicago for over sixty years. Frank Nitti was a skirt. Never enforced and killed himself after disrespecting the real powers that be in Chicago after Al (Paul Ricca and Tony Accardo).

Now let's get back to the one pocket.

DWS,

I was, of course, joking about Al Capone being so tough. Has someone changed the rules so that every word must be about one pocket? Lighten up...

Actually, Capone did beat Scalisi and Anselmi to death with a bat himself, at a mob dinner. Accardo got the name Joe Batters from his own, separate work with a ball bat.

If you say so Freddy, I can't argue. I know your neighborhood, so you without a doubt would know more than me. I always heard it was Accardo. My bad. Since I have been asked to lighten up, how about you and Artie share some good Outfit stories with us?

And its up to date. But like Freddy said today is about one pocket. I realy dont care what we talk about. BUt talking about crime and gangsters will not help your game. Even though it is interesting.

I certainly concur Deeman. If all we had to do was decipher Wei table shots, I, for one, would be bored to tears.
We should all share stories about the past (or present) that, to the best of our recollection, are somewhere near factual.
If they are not based on first hand info... then at least make all the lies interesting and entertaining.

Dick <---has never met a pool player who did not streettcchh the truth.
