Our match will stick with me for the rest of my life, that's how much I enjoyed the competition in spite of all the hours we played, it was fun.

Jerry, for a couple of old timers we hung in there pretty good. It was a grueling match but it was fun, love to do it again. It's unbelievable that you were able to play as long as you did carrying all that extra weight and play the speed that you exhibited. Our match was so close that it was only one shot here or there that would of made the difference in the outcome. Your game is as solid as any senior in the world, it was a pleasure playing you.

Thanks Jerry, you made me a better player.

That's camaraderie at a high level of competition for pretty serious cash. That's great to see. I notice that with the calcutta money, the payouts at Bogies senior event were actually a little higher than the US Open One Pocket tournament. The calcutta made the difference.

Gosh.

Gosh.

Dear Gentle Readers,

Catching up on the last Senior Soirée one-pocket news - - boy, do I wish I could have watched it! - - reminded me of Audra Mae’s version of Dylan’s “Forever Young.”

May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
And may you stay forever young,
May you stay forever young.

May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young,
May you stay forever young.

May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful,
May your song always be sung,
May you stay forever young,
May you stay forever young.
