knife the 12 toward your hole and carom in the dangling stripe???
this was my first thought. actually i like this shot here if the 12 goes.
Based on the 12 ball shot selection it is obvious that people saw and remember Danny Smith slicing a similar 2 ball in late in his match with C. Gentile. Danny's shot was even a little more difficult. Good luck.
I guess I might shoot the 4-ball at Joey's pocket with a little speed -- hoping to make and/or chase to clear his pocket without opening up any more balls, and follow the cue ball to the bottom rail.
steve this is the best shot to me looking to hit the 10 ball on the way in knocking it away
to my eye the 10 is sort of on the tittie and caroming into it after cutting the 12
id be concerned it would jaw up and stay by his pocket
any shot would have been better than what josh shot
he hit the green ball full in the face as a stop shot...
after the balls moved around joey had an easy shot at his pocket..
obviously he hit it bad for whatever he had in mind
maybe someone can imagine and tell me
WHAT WAS HE THINKING???

Maybe he was trying to combo the 4 ball (whatever ball that is) into his hole??? That's taking aggression a little too far.
The younger guys seem to take a Gatling gun approach to 1P. They both just start firing away, and after the smoke clears, whoever has 8 in his hole wins!

That's what he tried to do Doc. Yes he badly misjudged the shot, I say this because he drew the cue ball to freeze in the stack. If you're going to draw the cue ball and stick in the stack, then you have to be confident that you're going to make the ball because you're not playing position for yourself, you're playing it for your opponent. He missed it on the heavy side because he had a mental lapse. I say this because he missed it badly, by putting too much attention on the cue ball and not on the OB. Mental lapse. I have them often, i'm lucky Joey Gray doesn't follow me.

Dan, going for the 12ball and taking out the 10ball is an option for the right players. Obviously not for all, however, the player that confidently feels that he can hit the edge of the 12ball, fits nicely into that option. Yes, it's a riskier option, but it carries a much higher reward then the other options. With that understanding, for the right players it looks to be the right shot. For players who shy away from shots like that, or even have doubts with playing ..thin cut shots that are just moderately aggressive, would tell me that that option is not on their menu. With the shot, you have to either: (1) go all out and try to pocket a ball; or (2) do what it takes to remove the hanging ball to thwart a runout. I like the latter here utilizing the 4.
OR.... maybe he just shot up in the air AS USUAL and this one didn't work out. Unbelievable
QUOTE=onepockethacker;149340]Why the hell would he draw the cue ball to freeze to the stack if he was trying to make the combo? He either sells completely out or gets 1 ball:frus
